Exterior Color Combination Advice Needed!
Comments (4)Thanks for the suggestions! My sister in law doesn't like red but thinks that cranberry is an option. The other suggestion of a smokey-blue gray prompted them to consider a dark sage color, which is in the gray/green family. I think either of those should perk up the black/white combo!...See MoreWhat would you do... with this exterior?
Comments (10)"What would you do...with this exterior". First off. Thanks to everyone for replying. All the tips and suggestions have been noted and are much appreciated. I’m going to try to consolidate responses to questions here and add additional context to help: Roof — Yes it must be replaced. Very difficult to match and find. Also, the addition is not concealed to the back. See before and after elevation images below. The upper part of the roof is new. Rough estimate to upgrade from asphalt to light weight S tile is $10-15K because concrete S tile weight would require additional structural upgrades. Color Consultant — hopefully will not need that by leveraging the Houzz community Windows -- will only be new in the back where the addition and remodel impacts the house more. Will replace front windows over time but not necessary and in scope/budget. Finally, with this additional context, I’m going to close how we started. Thanks again in advance! Questions: What color roof shingles? What color exterior paint combinations? What color front door? Keep existing white garage or replace with a wooden? Any other suggestions to improve curb appeal (landscaping?)? Please provide example pictures/links when possible. Much appreciated and please be on the lookout for more "What would you do..."....See MoreExterior paint combinations
Comments (8)The windows are clad in white aluminum so that painting is not required. I like your idea but I think I need to keep the trim white so that I don’t have the hassle of maintaining paint in this area. I need to try and find a program to do a mock up of the colors. I would not have considered doing the garage doors dark but I like that idea!...See MoreExterior paint for 1924 English cottage revival house
Comments (11)I love the brightness of the second photo- but is it white or a very pale sea salt? I'm supposed to stay away from whites and grays. I don't know how to use power point, but I'm using a program on Sherwin Williams that gives a rough look at changing paint colors. One of my attempts looks a lot like the one you posted....See Morechris
