Soft White to go w Edgecomb Gray

Painting EG in the main family and formal rooms but our foyer has a solid door w no windows and a stairwell going up the side so I' want to keep the foyer and stairs a bit brighter (not Alabaster lighter though). I love a bit color on the wall to have the trim stand out a bit so looking at things like Aesthetic white, shoji, winds breath etc.

Is there a white with that depth or a smidge darker that goes w Edgecomb well and it's undertones? I've read just "lightening" the formula is not always the way to go and I don't have time to try some samples of the lighter color.

Should add I have Pure White trim

Look at Pale Oak and Soft Chamois. I have EG and those two colors in my house in different rooms, depending on the type of light each room has and the effect I'm looking for. Pale Oak is lighter than EG and SC is lighter still - it's an off white.

We have Acadia White with Edgecomb Gray and I love that combo--though Acadia leans very creamy so may not be what you're looking for. (We have a house where all of the trim had been painted Acadia White by the previous owner, so over the years have kept the trim the same for simplicity and found other colors that we like with it as we've repainted spaces.)

What if you use Pure White for the walls in satin finish? Trying to mate whites is tricky. The difference in sheens will make the white on white work. Then add beautiful art.

However, if you change your mind about white walls, Edgecomb loves green. This is B.M. Par Four:

Matching color for Edgecomb Gray is White Heron, White Opulence, I would go with one of it.

@elcieg I think PUre White is too white for my liking for walls. I love color and depth but have low light rooms. I've used a similar warm white w pure white trim in another house and liked it for just a bit of warmth but it was colors I knew. I've never used Edgecomb.

But now I'm in a panic and just looked at the BM website and some sample photo of a fireplace looks butter yellow when I clicked EG!!!! I've never seen it resemble anything like that BM sample photo online or on my paint sample. Guess I'll see when I open the door - painters putting on edgecomb now.

@Celery. Visualization, Rendering images Thanks! Dove Wing looks like something I'm looking for. That gray!!! That gives me an idea. I have Taj Mahal in the kitchen and not wanting the all golden beige look. I saw a beautiful kitchen that blended a blue/gray tile w their TM and it looked so good - different than what I see always done w Taj.

B.M. shows a color with different lighting. Scroll down to "lighting". Night is when the paint looks yellowy. But, we know it's not. It could be the light bulbs as the slight undertone of EG is green.
