Why not just use real stone and save all the hassle .As for the corner you need to post pics here in a comment.

We're not using real stone because we want a very light color and our kitchen sees heavy use. We spoke with many friends who were ultimately unhappy choosing and maintaining a pale stone or quartz countertop.

You are choosing incorrect materials for the application and your want list. You specifically do not want Dekton if you can not live with their fabrication requirements. You will end ip with a pile of gravel in the kitchen when it breaks. Your want list will radically cut down on your choices. Corian, maybe.

But you are trying to design outside most material’s capability, which is building in unwarranteed failure. You need to design within a desired material’s specifications if you want to use that material. Or pick a different material.

What do they recommend as barrier? our dekstob is over a wall oven which heats up more than a dw! i’m sure it’s just the plywood underneath the dekton. our dw counter run is 38” tall so it’s not directly over the dw.

Roberto Colonetti has your answer in his manual. He's probably the best in the world.

Dekton is a large porcelain tile. I cannot see how indirect heat could be an issue.

Your bigger issue is going to be that without some type of fabricated edge, the porcelain is prone to chips. You have to follow Dekton's recommendations or risk voiding any warranty.

Just fyi, Cambria comes in 6mm, 1cm, 2cm, and 3cm thickness. I
did a counter in 2cm because I wanted thinner profile.
You can find granite in 3cm (which is about 1.25”).

Thanks @lharpie I'd seen these edges and like the pencil edge. We have frameless cabinets so perhaps I'm overthinking it and they will just lay something flush across the top of the appliance case.

Update: we were able to complete our kitchen and bath vanity with one slab of Dekton lunar, no barrier over dishwasher needed and we totally love it! A breeze to clean.

Thanks! Backsplash tile are Heath Ceramics seconds from the tile shed in Sausalito. Color is alpine, it has a very pale gray-bluish hue.

I've had dekton trillum installed in our airbnb with dishwashwer under it, no problems. No chips either since the installation 5 years ago. We chose sharknose edge and ordered thru Home Depot.
