Wow, thanks so much for the advice!! Window treatments will be tricky, you don't want it to look cluttered. I wonder if it would work to just plant something beautiful outside the windows? I am thinking of doing this with clumping bamboo. how did you cut them? do you think I could make them more narrow?

Our master bedroom closet is 3x5'. That is for both of us. Challenging is an understatement. lol Right now I have double rods across the 5' width, with a 1 perpendicular on one side. It holds my few dresses and a shelf over it for suitcases (they all fit inside each other). On the other side, dh's tie rack and a metal rack with hooks for hats, etc. Shelf across the top of the double rods with plastic boxes for seasonal clothes and purses. Dh's shoes are in a closet in the family room and mine are in the linen closet. I'm about to empty the closet, take out the shelves and rods, and paint. I thought I'd reconfigure the rods if there is a better way. When the suitcase is on its shelf, dh has a hard time reaching the clothes on that end.

The most popular maker of these plates is Bordallo, in Portugal. If you go to ebay, and seach for "green Bordallo plates" you will find a lot of them, in all sizes. The size you want is usually labeled "dessert plate" or "salad plate." There are also Chinese knockoffs that are just as good, and antique majolica plates that cost a fortune. Last week I found two green majolica dessert plates at Goodwill. They were 99 cents apiece. Score!

Oh my - what a question for this forum. If you know anything about me, you know I'm gonna say MAKE IT YOURSELF!!! Next suggestion is: if you want to buy one, look through this forum to see who works in glass on glass or stained glass, and email that person to see if you could commission a piece.
