Dover White (SW) and Grassland (SW) fix suggestions
Comments (0)Hello! First post! I just painted the powder room Grassland, and now the room feels darker. Could this be because the painter painted the ceiling Grassland also? (By mistake) There is white crown molding and door trim in Pure White. I need to lighten up this room somehow without repainting. Cabinets are oak and accessories are brushed nickel. The house has all new interior doors and closet doors, and they were all painted Dover White. This color now looks to me to be more of an ivory than white in one room, especially when set against bright white trim. I am thinking this color for trim and doors does not go well with lighter beige/ivory colors (BM Hawthorne 1/2 formula) as it seems to fade away in the master bedroom. The two other rooms have Restrained Gold and Sedate Gray, and in those the Dover White looks like the chip--a slighty creamy white but white. I can't paint all the doors over, and I left the ones in the hall with the original brighter white trim, so I have 2 questions: Does a differnt trim color from door color look dumb? And what should I paint the trim in the master bedroom? Sorry soooo long of a post!...See MoreWhat color levelor blinds with Dover White trim?

Comments (5)Thank you again for your advice on colors. I love the combination of colors you have chosen. But I feel that again, I have not been very clear. The "landing" I am referring to is on the 1st floor. Unfortunately, in that dark niche outside the two bedrooms, I cannot hang anything because a thermostat was placed on that wall, and the A/C man just confirmed that it cannot be moved without a lot of work and expense. That is very unfortunate!! There is a "landing" on the 2nd floor too, along with a long hallway that connects bedroom to bathroom and study. In my opinion, the color of the stairwell will have to also be the color of the walls on this 2nd floor hall. Walls of study are BM 1077; walls of bathroom are SW Krypton; walls of bedroom are BM 1075. Please let me know if the colors you are showing are BM 1077 and SW Dover White. Those are colors I would like to stick with in my color scheme in general. I just believe I need to go lighter than BM 1077 on the walls of this hallway and on the 1st floor landing....See MoreNeed suggestions for all over white walls and trim
Comments (4)No one can advise paint colors in your space. Get 3 you like get some large poster boards paint one color on each one 2 coats then move them around in all times of the day. IMO all the light should be LED 4000K to keep the colors true at all times of the day too. I think the same color in a different sheen is the way to go with an all white space .I need to see your style since all white rooms tend to look best with a contemporary style and paint color is not going to make your space feel brighter that is done with lighting ....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
