Comments (2)Totally agree. Let it do what it's suppose to. If you chop it off the thing might say, "well heck I tried and tried and tried and now you cut me off? Never mind then." lol Seriously I don't believe that snipping the blooms does much help for the roots or bulb of a summer/ fall plant like it does for the spring things. I purchased 50 Stargazers a few years back and there just was not room for the last 4. So there was (is) a spot of gravel 12" deep next to the step. I pulled the gravel away with my hand and covered the Lily bulbs with 1" of stone. Thinking they were sure to die in a pile of gravel with no soil but at least I gave them a chance. The next spring 2 grew 4" tall but looked real bad and failed to bloom. So I told the things "well you stay there and grow or die" Next season came and they grew to 8" tall with no flowers. In the end it if now 6 years later and there in the gravel pile is 30 of the greatest looking full sized Stargazers you ever saw. My neighbor asked how I managed that and of course I said "I'm the best gardener around". Nature finds a way. footnote: since nature has a habit of using "the strongest" to survive obviously that plant is tougher in it genes. Let the flower grow, save the seeds and replant them. See what happens in 5 years....See MoreHow can I tell if my helleborous seedsare ready?
Comments (3)I've never had luck growing Hellebore from seeds that I harvested myself. I don't know about saving for trading but if you want more plants in your own garden, wait and they will naturally re-seed. Look under the mature plant and you'll find lots of babies. They are rugged and very easy to split up and move. In two years those babies will be grown ups....See MoreDoes anyone recognize this karastan pattern?
Comments (6)Right click on the pic, choose "copy image location". Go to google, click on where it says "images" in the upper right of the page, then when google images comes up click on the camera. Then where it says "Paste Image URL", paste the URL you've copied. Click on "Search by Image" and it will bring up the original image you are searching for, as well as any other images that match....See MoreNeed help picking out a rug
Comments (2)Hi, Benjamin ... I‘m not sure exactly what style you’d like, so I did this one as an example of how you can try different looks in your room. I used RugsUSA — https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-tribal-medallion/Silver/200KHMC04G-9012.html Or, a solid (thick, shaggy pile) .... https://www.rugsusa.com/rugsusa/rugs/rugs-usa-shaggy/Silver/200OZSG02O-92012.html You just upload your picture and can instantly see how it looks. It’s fun trying different ones!
