black or white solar shades
I plan to use a solar shade with either 10 or 14% openness. Typically, I would lean toward the black because I know it would tend to be more "invisible" than white however, in this particular case I wonder if it would stand out too much with all the white trim, light gray tile etc.
Would love some professional opinions.

Comments (5)Light filtering shades have a few degrees to pick from; the smaller the holes, the more light is filtered. I had chocolate brown ones in a former house that had a southern exposition in the master, and 3 sets of french doors, lots of heat and light were coming in, I loved that I was able to walk in the room and still see the view, yet not have so much heat generated. Comments (22)I get what you're saying about the cream being so close to the white. I think the black shade mocked up above looks very nice, but they do diminish the light so I think it also depends how much you really need. In my LR I have a white shade and a cream/linen shade and even though my blinds and trim are all white, I find myself constantly looking at the white shade thinking it's so bright. Comments (27)The actual shade material is black on both sides, interior and side that faces outside. For some reason, they did not wrap the strip at the bottom (the "bar") that holds the shade at the bottom with the fabric on the side that faces the exterior. I think this is a design flaw it should be black material. When you are outside the house, you see a white strip at the bottom. But this is the tradeoff for not paying more at a different company I suppose. I complained and after several months I was offered about $300 off my purchase price which I accepted....See More

3 months agoIt really comes doen to personal choice. A darker shade of sunscreen fabric would mean that you could see out more. You may wish to go for a grey sunscreen roller blind as an in between colour.
