I would agree with natural_one. I am not a pool builder... just a homeowner... I am putting one GloBrite in next week on my shelf... and 3-5g pool lights in the main pool. I will have better experience in a few weeks once water is in the pool, but I am just guessing from what I see on the lights, that the beam distribution is much different for the glo brite since it is meant for shallow water shelf use. And at less than half the wattage, I am sure you get much less light output. May be cost related or may be he thinks having 3 lights will give better coverage? Or may be he is doing it because the niche is cheaper and does not require bonding? That brings up another point... light bezels are usually the means of bonding the pool water... if you are only using Glo Brites, then there is no water bonding... which would be a code violation. Are they all along a side? I'd be concerned with a GloBrite providing enough light 18 feet away across the pool. I would not skimp on the lighting... VERY hard to change later... :)

Rosa, I'm sorry that happened to you! I should take my own advice... I wanted to sew in the living room so I could watch TV so I took the machine off the bedroom desk and put it on a table in front of the sofa... started to stitch and snap! The machine locked up and the display said "safety device activated"... at least I found the part of the needle that broke off and it didn't land inside the machine... my machine defaults to the left needle position when you turn it on, and if I'd been sewing in my normal spot I'd have remembered to change it, but with the moving to the living room bit thrown in to the mix, I simply forgot. Sometimes, mechanical machines that stay where we put them are best! I have a nice new gouge in my new quarter inch foot now... I guess it can be called a battle scar :o)

I have forced air, I would prefer floor radiant. I really wish whole hse air cleaners were more common place w/forced air. The one downside of radiators, you get no air movement, I can remember being at my sister's apt who had radiators and she was a smoker... you could see the smoke floating in the air forever. The only way to remedy was open a window or use a fan. The fan just moved the smoke around.

To Bill of MN: It is now planted!, mulched it more then 2 ft wide 2"deep, didn't bury the trunk at all. Picture attached. I'll do a progress report by Fall 2023 at the latest. To Ken of Adrien MI: No, there is no downside, this helps me to learn, it will be fun watching it change. This is my first year growing fruit trees and vegetables, so I'm all for hands on learning. Since late April, I've planted an Ayer Pear, a Black Ice Plum, a Toka Plum, a Chicago Hardy Fig, 2 Thornless Blackberry, a June Yellow Plum (didn't survive), Nikita's Gift Persimmon (under the union side shoots survived), 2 Golden Currant, plus a lot of vegetables. If I wasn't in zone5b, I would have planted a Mango tree also. Thanks to you all, much appreciated. .
