I agree with The Netherlands and The Maldives. I've always used "the" when talking about these two countries, but I think there might be more with "the" in their names. BTW, I never sleep naked. In 1994, a friend told me that she ran out of her apartment naked during the Northridge quake, but I stayed in bed for that, since I was on the second floor. This uncertainty afflicts me with a sense of personal deterioration; if I were in decent health I would know how many nights I had sat up with a pig.
