Most of the lower cost shower heads at Lowes, HD, Walmart, etc are made of plastic, even though they may be chromed. Yes, there are some in 'rainhead' style.

Hey Jimbar! Thanks for the link to the water heater! I'm sick of my PB trying to sell me his contact's things/ideas. It seems he has a buddy involved in every aspect of building a pool from start to finish. He nearly had me convinced that I needed to work w/ his plumber and electrician along w/ his gas guy to install an under-the-counter heater for our shower to the tune of $1000!!! YIKES! I LOVE this forum as no one here has a hidden agenda (except for the spammers hahaha!) so many great ideas for less can always be found!!!!! Love the video as well on that DIY network!! Haha! It's only for the summer. All pipes & hoses are drained and the enclosure is dismantled in the fall. The house was a 3 season cottage so the hot water tank had an exterior tap to drain the tank for winter. (since winterized) We realized we could hook up hoses to the cold & hot taps, feed them to a Y connector, attach another short hose and garden Sprayer and be able to shower outdoors. My husband laid a brick pad on a slope then put privacy fencing around it. We knew there would be some damage to the exterior wall but didn't worry as we are tearing that end of the building down in Spring and putting up a 2 story structure we laughingly call the east wing. We absolutely love the convenience so we incorporated it into the new design off our new family bath...accessible by sliders. Right now the scum on the siding is ridiculous because we have lime/calcium in the water, but that will be solved by the water softener.

There was a outdoor shower at my beachfront home on Puget Sound that was installed years before I moved there in 2010. It was an ordinary bathroom showerhead and worked perfectly well even after all those years. These are fixtures that are intended to hold up to lots of water and high humidity without issue and even my seafront shower showed no sign of decline despite exposure to wind and salt spray.
