Do you think, and rethink, and think again about your choices?
Comments (46)I used to be much more cavalier about discarding roses but I've changed my ways. For one, it takes so long for bands to grow into ornamental plants with little rain. Besides, by now I should know better and be more discriminating in what I order. I know now that Maggie does not ring my chimes but she's staying. Charles Darwin, of which I have two, hardly lasts one day, but I hope with age that will improve. Mrs. Henry Morse is one of those early hybrid teas that take forever to put on growth so that might have been a mistake. I'll try fish solution to hurry her along. Mme. Antoine Mari's flowers are really too delicate for the heat, but there again I hope she'll toughen up with age. Sometimes I wish desperately that I could begin the whole process over again, amend the soil properly before planting, install drip watering right away and choose roses as though my life depended on it. Oh well........See MoreWhat do you think about this layout? What should I use for edging?
Comments (17)semi-circular extension of patio is an element I took from your plan. I don't know what it is, but it only made sense to me if it was an extension of paving. I'm not suggesting you add paving you don't need. (If the grey semi-circle in your plan represents gravel, that is just a softer form of paving.) You are the one deciding what it is and where it is. I'm just trying to make guesses that keep up with you. Mowed grass is the de facto path for areas that are accessed infrequently. There are a few (very few) groundcovers that might stand up to fairly infrequent use if grass is not desired. But part of the equation depends on cultural conditions present: light/moisture/soil, etc. For areas that need frequent access, some kind of non-plant material (paving) must be used. You could say you're "not happy" with something. But if you don't say exactly WHY, then it's impossible to help work toward overcoming the objections. As I mentioned at the outset, it was difficult to interpret the plan because it is not spelled out what things are. One cannot get sense of how elements are, or should, fit together. It would be helpful to label anything that is not plants, even if it is very generic. Whatever shape represents a plant material, assign a height value to it (height when it is mature.) I suggest using a scheme where mowed grass is +0 and all other plants are +whatever-their-height-in-feet-is. If we knew this, the intent and direction of the plan might be easier to figure out....See Morewhat do you think about Aloe vera?

Comments (29)I thought travel insurance could exclude pre-existing conditions but I could be wrong. Refer to https://www.forbes.com/advisor/travel-insurance/pre-existing-conditions/ However, I would check the fine print on any policy you are considering as some may include it for an additional premium. If we are travelling internationally, we purchase medical travel insurance primarily for the medical evacuation benefits through insuremytrip.com. Typically we use a GeoBlue policy. Fortunately we haven’t had to use it yet. A couple of years ago I fell while hiking and broke my hand. We were in a semi-remote area with limited to no medical services. Since it was a closed fracture on my non-dominant hand I decided to live with it until we returned home 8 days later. If thats the worse I experience while traveling, I’ll be grateful....See MoreKswl
