. . . and now it begins I had SPECIFICALLY insisted that the carpet be power stretched. It was written on my order. It was written on the installers' job sheet. So what do I find when I check on their progress? A stinger. Which punches holes in the carpet and is explicitly prohibited by the CRI. I took a picture of it and emailed it to Lowes, and told them that the installer had violated the Mohawk warranty requirements. And hopefully didn't take chunks out of my subfloor in the process, but probably did. The installation team manager called Mohawk to confirm what I told him, and they said yes, stingers are a no go. So, I told them they are going to have to do it all over again, with new fresh materials, and do it right. more fun.

I purchased the Puresque "Lake Forest" line last year. It was installed August 22, 2007 over a 1/2' - 8 pound pad. My wife and I are the only two living in our house and we are both are over 70. The carpet for unknown reasons got so dirty it had to be cleaned last week by professional cleaners. The cleaners could not believe how dirty the carpet had gotten in a year like the odor stuff had collected dirt into the carpet. The ware and tear in traffic areas was unbelievable. He suggested that I have a manufactures rep come and take a look at the ware and fraying of the carpet. I arranged to do that 2 weeks ago. The new carpet is almost as bad as the 13 year carpet that it replaced. Do you have any comments about the "Puresque" carpeting since it is suppose to be so great? Beaulieu of America rep want come and look at it saying that the warranty does not cover matting or retention. What is covered by the 15 year ware warranty???? You should be able to find a nice BCF nylon under your budget. Shaw makes many as Shaw is the current leader in Nylon products. Mohawk is know for its triexta and Polyesters and Beaulieu is still trying to get back market share. Many feel that Bliss is overpriced for what it is. Many polyesters in the line. Best valued Polys in today's world is from a company called Dream Weaver. They are capturing the polyester market share at a rapid rate. 4 year old niche company that is here to stay. You want nylon though I would guess and can stay under your budget easily. Shaw has many nylons that can get under that number and feel great and work well for you for a long time. HGTV by shaw has a product called simple texture that can be at your budget and it has a twenty year across the board from the manufacturer warranty. Not an inflated box store warranty that doesn't mean a whole lot. Just some food for thought.

Roselvr,I LOVE the bedding in your last post! I'm thinking of changing the floral bedding in the second BR. I somtimes feel one of the BR's needs a more masculine look/feel. I'll wait until after I hear if an offer comes in, not that I couldn't use it in 'my new house'(can't believe i'm typing that!!)
