Cascade Platinum Plus

Has anyone used this new version yet? I am a little skeptical due to sudsing issues that I have with the smaller and less powerful versions. This one claims to have 2x the 'Dawn' in the liquid top, which ironically is what causes the severe suds issues. Looking for some feedback! Thanks!

I have used these ”Platinum” versions of Cascade but I am going to try Costco’s Kirkland brand as it appears to have much lower perfume levels in it. The Cascade is so bad, I feel as if I‘m walking by one of those long department store cosmetic counters when I pull out my dishes when they are done. Im sorry , but I know what ”clean” smells like; which means I should smell NOTHING!!! Same gies for my laundry.

Yes, there is a bit too much perfume. The Costco detergent does fairly good, just isn’t the best woth hard water.

I don't have that particular model but do have Viking machines-all the embroideries are the same principle-the way the "E" is turned is the direction of the design, if your machine has one of those buttons that mirrors or rotates the designs, that shows you by the "E" which direction the design will stitch out. I hope I explained that properly for you to understand! Pat

All you need for quilting is a straight stitch and some feet. For free-motion quilting, you will want a darning or free-motion foot (different names, same foot). For straight line work, a walking foot is nice, but I'm getting good results with my regular foot and often use a zipper foot to get close to a seam edge.

I also have a Platinum Plus. If you use a larger hoop, the design direction you select will not change. You can rotate how the design will embroider by rotating the E. The tension is automatically set. The dial for the tension will move when you use the arrows and you can read the numbers on the dial. If you rotate the E one time, so the E is facing downward, the top is then on the right side. If you rotate the design how you think you want it, then do "fix", you'll have the square area on the fabric where the design will go. The machine won't let you embroider if the design doesn't fit the hoop.

In CR's tests, Cascade Original (CR tested the lemon scent one) performed slightly better than Cascade Platinum Plus and it's half the price.

(In my old Whirlpool which has two dispensers -- one each for pre-wash and main wash -- I use some cheap Cascade Powder in each dispenser.)

wdccruise, I think you are confused. These are a new pod that CR has not tested yet. Platinum PLUS is a slightly larger pac, whereas Platinum +Oxi is an older design.
