Should I add a planter to mcm landscape or not? Help!
Comments (22)awm03 - Thank you so much! Your opinion and thoughts are very helpful. I know nothing about plants and gardening. I can post tomorrow what plants he is suggesting for the other flower bed areas around the patio. I think it will be along the same stuff. emmarene - Reading your post did make me think twice about it. I think there is too much concrete, and trying to conform to the original architect's modules of 8x8' makes it hard to find a place to add greenery. The landscape archtect also suggested filling in the space with concrete if I dont like the look, but there's always a risk it wont match. Do you think it will be pretty bad? I'm so nervous to make a mistake! I love the house in the link below. I think it has some asymmetry to the hardscape and landscape. I'm trying to see if there are any similarities to placements of flowerbeds, concrete in relation to the pool Here is a link that might be useful: Palm Springs Cody home...See MoreI have medium brown cabinets, what color dining table should i have?
Comments (5)I'd go a darker than the cabinets, picking up the dark flecks in the granite. It would be hard to get a bleached or "cerised" finish that blended well with the granite. If you get a low sheen finish with some shading and distressing on the planks, the fingerprints will be less noticeable. We have a dark table from World Imports that shows almost nothing between cleanings....See MoreWhat should I do now? I have mildew.
Comments (8)Gardengal - You are correct. What an ass I am. I did sprinkle some sluggo on Saturday. I always have slugs. regarding the powdery mildew I have seen many white dots on the cucumber leaves and the pumpkin leaves. Should I stop spraying them or keep spraying? Is it better just to remove all the leaves that have the dots. I do not have a close up picture but I know they are there. I have a new gineau impatient that was affected also. I put that in the sun for awhile too and removed the affected leaves. Thanks for your help. You are quick and now I feel a little better even though I am such an idiot for not thinking about the Sluggo. I have used it once before but I never seen that moldy looking stuff....See MoreWhat should I do for the planter? Leave it alone or change it
Comments (4)If the bottom is dry and hard, it's not rot but just corking, common in an older plant. Where is the plant squishy? Is it at the top of that brown spot on the bottom of the plant, or is it at the top of your plant? I can't see either clearly enough in your photo. Can you post another photo that's a close up of the squishy part? Also, I think this is a Euphorbia, not a cactus. I would not bury the bottom. If the roots are in good shape and filling that pot, I think it could go in a pot that was slightly bigger as long as the mix was very fast draining....See MoreSigrid
