It's going well, thank you! Had a nice get-together with all my siblings in the middle of the week; an enjoyable trip and a good meal with everyone. This afternoon I attended my first training session for a volunteer job; it should be easy enough, it's low-key, and the people I'll be working with are nice. So I'm looking forward to spending a couple hours per week "doing something" to contribute. Right now, DH and I are relaxing with a delicious beverage (Kentucky Christmas Morning, a Hardywood stout) and apple & cheese snack. Does life get better? It doesn't need to.

Could be worse, could be better. Rather a boring week. Did some grocery shopping, cleaning , went to the club for one drink and played 3 games of bar bingo, and took my under warranty broken rug cleaner to the shop. On the good note the shop said it sounds like the motor and I probably will get a brand new cleaner in about a week.

Hi! My week is good enough, but my day is inexplicably great. I just feel good today. I feel clear-headed, healthy, energetic, and even lighter weight. Went for a walk and just had more spring, and less ache than normally. Don't know why. My spouse suggests maybe it is because I had coffee this morning, which is unusual for me.

My week is ok, thanks for asking. I had to come back to work off of vacation and that was a bummer. My boss is picking on me in some sort of weird man ego bid to impress the newbie who he is in a weird bromance with, despite the fact that dude cant even clock in on time, so that is annoying but I have friends everywhere at work so I just ignore him and do my work and make my money. I was welcomed back by my shifts with enthusiasm, as they say prefer to have me there over the people who cover for me when I am on vacation. That is always a nice feeling when people say nice things like that.

During the first part of the week I was still on vacation and a little restless so I painted the bottom half of one of my bathrooms. The top half was a bright blue , the bottom half a horrible brown, with a white chair rail separating the two. Painted the brown a navy blue, and it looks a million times better. I hate that I left it like that for so long. Brown and gray make me sad. Got my septic tank pumped. Just barrels of excitement around here! I also ordered some veggie seeds and some plants for my garden. Got SO to go get me some compost/manure and some more dirt to top off my raised garden beds. I will plant his collards and cabbage and my broccoli in a few weeks. I am noodling with the idea of trying to grow onions this time. I want to get some more of those garden beds. I might not this year but I may. Next year for sure but maybe this year. I really really love them. Got my hair done too, which was the true highlight of the week. (see what I did there?)

I started my eating plan for the team weight loss competition and that is actually going better and was easier to start than I thought it would be. But its always easier on days/nights I work. When I am off and at home its a bit more of a challenge. But I am sure I can do it.

Had a week long back and forth with the company that picks up our trash. They did not pick it up last week. I called every day after our trash day and they said they DID. No, you didn't. Well, we will get it tomorrow. They didn't. This went on every day until our regular trash day again. It wasn't picked up again. So I finally called and told them that they could either come pick it up THAT DAY, or I will be bringing it to their doorstep, and they finally picked it up. I am always exceedingly nice when I call for things like that, because my mother taught me that you always get better results. But eventually somethings gotta give. WITCH SWITCH FLIPPED! And I got a weeks credit on my bill. I just want them to give the service I pay for. Its so frustrating.

I went to the eye doctor today because I am on my last pair of contact lenses. I had SO drive me because I was really tired after working last night. It took way longer than I thought it would and we passed a Krispy Kreme that had the hot light on both on the way there and on the way home. :( I told him he better not stop. We can go back after my competition is won! Or lost. Whatever. I am happy that my prescription has not changed, and I was happy that the doctor did not try to push Lasik on me again as he has done every year. I believe he actually sold his practice but still works there, and probably no longer gets commission or kickbacks or whatever doctors get for such referrals.

Leo is having one of his spells where he throws up all his food for a few days in a row. This happens every few months. The vet does not know why. He does not feel bad and still eats, drinks, plays, and annoys the cat. He just throws up a few times a day for a few days then he is fine. Its gross and I wish the vet could help, but I guess its just a quirk of his. So we are waiting for this bout of whatever it is to pass.

So some good, some not so good, some mundane. Just happy to be alive to ramble about it. Enjoy your weekend!

My husband has high blood pressure....unless he goes jogging, then he's fine. I know THIS...but I'm just getting over the flu/cold, had it for 7 days. I still have this horrible lingering cough & runny nose if I'm out in the cold. Today it was cloudy 23F and he wanted "me" to go run with him. I just want to be warm, drink hot tea, be a home body. I'm miserable trying to keep up my old before-I-was-sick schedule. We stopped @ Taco Bell for lunch and my diaphragm clenched. I walked around, stood straight, walked around some more, took me 20 minutes to get it to calm down. I'm just not ready to jog mileage....and I was freezing can-not-get-warm. I wanted to pick up a pizza for dinner, he wants ME to cook one from scratch. I put the dough in the bread machine, took a hot bath, laid down on the couch and I was "out". He put the dough away in the frig. The house is full of food...if he'll just get it himself.

nicole, hope you feel better soon. i've been fighting it since monday and am finally feeling like i'll live through it. haven't had a head cold since this time last year. i was doing ok as long as i kept up on the decongestant but then my blood pressure was skyrocketing and come to find out, it was the decongestant that was causing it so had to stop taking it.

my dogs have been so bored all week but thankfully, they seem to understand that i just don't feel well and haven't been pestering me a whole lot.
