Need help figuring out a dining table for my Small Dining Room
Comments (9)I have about that size dining room with walkways on all sides. In my previous house, I had a 48" square dining table that I used when we moved in. I bought a 48" round table, it was amazing the difference it made. There are only 3 of us so I just keep 3 chairs around the table on a daily basis. You could do a drop leaf. I am not sure it you could find one in a style that would go with your house. I have 2 drop leafs that I use around the house and bring out when I need more tables for company but they are both Duncan Phyfe antiques. Another option would be a round with a leaf or two that expands for family. You'll be amazed how a round fits the space better. Something about cutting off those sharp corners make it easier to maneuver through the rooms....See MoreRevamping my Living Room. Suggestions?
Comments (8)My first impression was that everything is dark - the walls, the furniture, the fireplace surround, the curtains, the whole ambience. If it were my room, I would paint the fireplace a cream color, change the wall color to a much lighter shade, take the curtains off and put on some light colored side panels and move one of the couches out of the room. I would choose a larger and more colorful rug, perhaps blue and cream stripes for a vibrant, contemporary look, and declutter the bookcase after that has also been painted a lighter color. Your room will look much larger and brighter. With the TV over the fireplace, I'd remove all the small objects on the mantel which just look busy without adding anything. It may seem like a lot of changes and of course these are just suggestions, and you may not agree with some or all of them....See MoreBeach house Living / Dining / Kitchen REVAMP!!
Comments (2)Congratulations on your new beach place. You must be very excited. Is this going to be a secondary residence for just family or do you plan to rent it out as well? What area of the country is it in? I think I understand that you want to replace all the flooring with one choice. This will eliminate carpet in bedrooms and the two laminates in the great room and kitchen. I think there are a lot of options that will work with your cabinetry. I don’t think you should worry about the stained door, a quart of paint and that will match the trim. Are you only considering laminate? What about Lvp or tile?...See MoreFill my foyer…and dining room and living room and…
Comments (7)In order for a place like this to be designed properly you need an overall plan. First of all you need to know your house style and what suits it. Then you need to know what you appreciate in colorway and so on. Inspiration pictures help with that. Research what do you like to define clearly your taste. Really though the best thing is to have somebody to come in and work with you too give you a plan which creates flow throughout your home. A consultation I think would go very far....See Morerdy2retire
