Comments (12)It is 6 mm, so definitely thinner than traditional countertop materials. I realized I forgot to ask about the edge after I left. I'll try and remember to call this week. Personally, I'm not an "early adopter" so I don't think I would use it for a countertop. I would be worried about chipping. I do think it would be a great option for a backsplash or flooring. Comments (17)We have the observer, the person viewing the color, the context and quality of light and of course the color itself to consider. Have to consider all four because color doesn't exist in isolation. Which is why there's a range of whites that are usually perceived as being the most neutral. Neutral meaning achromatic, without any hue bias, "just white". Physiologically we see that range or region of the spectrum as the most neutral because the green curve is the widest wavelength of the three (red, green and blue) curves that our vision system is designed to perceive. As a result, we tend to see colors from this range of the spectrum as brighter. Which translates to whiter when the color is low in colorfulness, close to being achromatic, without any hue bias - or "Just white". No one with normal color vision would mistake a color of white that truly belonged to the blue hue family for being neutral, without any hue bias or "just white" unless there was an issue with skewed context and/or lighting....See MoreNeed help please! Comments (4)Debbie. we did go ahead with Panda White. Although my color specialist suggested walls, trim, shelves, and cabinets all be painted in the same color/different sheen, we painted trim and doors Sherwin Williams Pure White in semigloss...and glad we did. Next project is kitchen cabinets and I’m not sure to do Panda, SW alabaster or Ben Moore white dove. We need to choose the best quartz counter first..that will relate to travertine floor says my designer. Then pick a cabinet paint. Here are some pictures. I‘m waiting on some new furniture.....after many, many years and new drapes. 😊. i think my Color designer is definitely right in saying that new paint can’t do all the heavy lifting. That is where decorating helps it all come together. Because travertine has a pink undertone...hard to tell sometimes...paint with a green undertone will only exaggerate this difference. That may be why you don’t like Carrington Beige. Look up the designer, Carla Aston. She has a great blog on how to update your space with travertine. Lots of good ideas and pictures from other commenters. Good luck!...See MoreTravertine and Brown Tile—Update with Paint?
