HGI, Provia, Milikin Millwork Entry Doors
Comments (5)For the HGI, I am looking to do modify my front entry to install a 96" fiberglass door. The name of the door is Mohave. However, for the Provia door, I am looking to get the Signet Fiberglass "Crystal" door. The only difference I see is that the warranty on the finish is that Provia offers 7 years vs. 5 years for HGI. Both doors seems to be constructed the same but I'm not sure. Provia also indicates that they have a 3 pt lock system which runs around $1200.00 which is a requirement for 96" doors. Provia will not sell the door without installing this lock. For the HGI, they have a 2 pt. lock system. The biggest difference that I'm finding is that Provia is $7000 more expensive. The price mentioned is including installation....See MoreProvia Heritage Entry Door
Comments (4)Not sure exactly which door style you are referring to but that seems like a very good price on that door and sidelites. Especially if they are replacing the interior trim....See MorePlain Steel Entry Door + Sidelites - Provia vs. HomeGuard
Comments (4)BpChill - The doors must be painted the custom color mix specified by my HOA. I don't know whether Provia and HomeGuard can do that, or if they can, whether one will charge a lot more than the other to do it. I would prefer the factory do the painting because I think it will be much more durable than if I hired a painter to paint the new door and frames in my HOA's custom color....See MoreProvia Door quote- Is this reasonable?
Comments (6)Yes, I'd say that is somewhere in the spectrum of expected pricing. Lot of variables involved regarding the installation, etc, but that Signet is a VERY high end door, and that is an expensive glass package as well. I'd also add that at $400, it sounds like they are throwing the storm door in for a song. You could easily double that storm door price and take as a "discount" on the entry door....See Morejackowskib
