We have typhoon bordeaux (my stoneyard also called it sienna bordeaux) with teak-stained maple cabinets (look a lot like like cherry), but I think the TB would also go great with a darker cabinet, as well. The granite has a creamy background, with streaks, swirls & blotches of chocolate, black, gray, rust & burgundy shades. The lighter background of the granite would contrast well your darker cabinets, and the darker colors in the granite would pick up or echo the dark tones of the wood. Hi, I happened to stop by the forum today and saw your post about the granite. I absolutely love mine. I was a little afraid of all the movement when we first selected it, but now its my favorite part of the kitchen. The granite was a perfect way to tie together the elements in the kitchen--off white cabinets w/ brown glaze, stainless steel applicance, nickel hardware and the red of our floors. Everyone who sees the kitchen comments on the granite. We had the same issue with variances in the slabs. The other slabs our fabricator had on site were completely different. One of them had a big rust colored circle that looked like someone left a paint can sitting on it. Thankfully they moved that one out of the way and although ours was a mirror image of the first slab it didn't have the same circle on it. Some of the other slabs they had were much more yellow or gray. It was surprising how much they varied. Best of luck to you in making your decision.

I will post pictures tonight after I get home from work. I glanced at the counters this morning, and the caulk was drying clear but the thicker caulk was not clear yet. We used caulk in the bathroom recently that went on white and dried clear. There were parts of the dried caulk where it looked like you could see the rough edges through the caulk. I just have to look at it in more detail tonight. snookums - The granite fabricator is not the same company that is doing the floors. The floors were done by a sub through the GC. The granite fabricators were picked by the KD, and she's worked with them for several years. I am questioning her attention to detail as she said she had never really noticed before that granite could have chips in it like our island did. After I told her about ours she went home and discovered that she had them in the granite in her house and just never noticed. I am hoping that the wavy edge looks tolerable once the caulk is all dried. Some of the fabricators on GW seem to indicate that the wavy edges were normal and shouldn't be something I should complain about.

My mom just got TB with her medium dark cherry cabinets and it is the most beautiful thing you ever saw!!! Here in GA they are so bad with lots of rust stains and big splotches of weird colors. It is nothing like what my mom has in Kentucky. Her's is more like the slabs you and others are posting, the beautiful ones with the more all over pattern. Someone said it has changed recently so you are fortunate to find the beautiful TB slabs while you can. You did the right thing with TB it is great with cherry cabs and is fun to decorate around/with. You will not have any trouble finding things to go with it. We think the Danville Tan BM goes well with it. Someone also recommended Macadamia either BM or SW not sure. My mom has a stainless sink with an ORB faucet and it looks great. I think you can just about use anything with SS. You are doing great with your choices. I have a Grohe Bridgeford faucet in chrome and I love it. You will have to sort of twist it back in after spray use but that is the only thing I have noticed about it and it is no big deal.
