Corner radius for island, counters, show me?
Comments (3)The picture from your image has a VERY large radius, right? That is what I want also. The end of my 42 inch wide island needs to seat two people (sometimes). I thought from the beginning that I need to add a dramatic curve to that end to increase space for two to sit side by side. I have much more length to play with than width, hence my willingness to have a large radius to fit the second seat. Here's a website that advertises custom wood tops - I have no idea about the cost but I definitely plan to pursue. I have no financial connection with this company but looks like they offer exactly what I want. Maybe you too. Can't seem to find their location. That might give an idea about what shipping costs would be. http://www.williamrogersco.com/custom_capabilities Here is a link that might be useful: William Rogers Custom wood tops...See MoreEducate me on countertop corner radius, edge styles, and sink reveals
Comments (17)Joseph Corlett - I think the posters on this thread advocating being present at the templating are not talking about the homeowner being at the house while the fabricator copies cabinets and walls. We are talking about the subsequent process of choosing which parts of the slab go where. This occurs at the fabricator's shop. So for example if there is a colorful chunky part of the stone that the homeowner wants showcased on the kitchen island, the homeowner and the fabricator will outline that during the templating process at the fabricator's. Conversely if there is a part the homeowner does not want, such as a resin pool on a slab of quartz, that part can be cut out for the sink or simply not used. Here is a pic of what I mean, though it's not mine, just a photo on the Internet. I've done this sort of layout several times for different kitchens. It's taken place at the fabricator's shop. In this photo it appears the homeowner wanted a long expanse of counter without the chunky colorful part, and the layout was done accordingly. That slab could have been cut completely differently; if the homeowner is present during this layout, his/her preferences are made clear and it's a collaborative effort. We have seen many times on this forum that when a homeowner doesn't take part in this part of the templating, there are often problems. Even if the fabricator has a lot of integrity and wants to correct any issues, it may require locating another slab and starting over....See MoreCounter radius? Help!
Comments (3)A 1" radius isn't much. On inside radii, they are probably limited by the size of their CNC tooling. Anything smaller has to be done by hand, and that gets expensive quickly....See More1/2" vs 1/4" corner radius for quartz countertop?
Comments (29)I love your countertops with the clean lines and square corners i just had quartz countertops installed with curved corners after i had specifically ordered squared. Sadly, they tell me i have to pay and will not replace it. I even hired their designer and we went over all the details including straight clean cut sides and square corners. Not once did they ask me what radius I wanted. She only showed me the buffet in their showroom with squared corners. She then did up drawings with square corners which I signed and they still installed rounded corners. i want to have it replaced, as it isnt what i ordered but now they want to take action if i dont pay the balance owing :( I feel I need to stand my ground as this is a huge investment. Thoughts?...See Morekculbers
