The GE range and microwave were bisque in color and from 2003, but when the magnatron went out last year, we replaced the microwave with a new GE Profile convection microwave in stainless. So we'd like to replace the bisque range for a stainless one sometime by next year so they will match. Since the convection microwave is Ge Profile, we'd first like to stay with GE Profile for the range so the "style" matches. That would be either the free-standing induction PHB925SPSS ($2100 new) or the slide-in (non induction) PS968SPSS ($1400 new). When looking at the installation instructions for GE slide-in (and the Electrolux induction slide-in) is when I saw about having to "shave" the counter top, which got me worried since the granite has been there for 5 years now. I'm not sure if the price of having the granite modified to fit a particular slide-in, and then years later maybe going with another range, and the granite not fitting it is all worth it. But the overall goal would be for the range (GE or another brand) to match the "style" of the GE Profile convection microwave and have the controls in the front, so the full granite backsplash is visible. I know there's the GE Cafe CS980SNSS that is free-standing, but looks like a slide-in, with the controls on the front. But for with a price of $2400, I'd probably just go with the regular free-standing GE Profile Induction for $2100, even though the controls are on the back. The Vikings range $4000-7000 depending on the model.

Jennymamma - I'm glad you brought that up! I also wanted a convection microwave, which the Bosch isn't. I wanted one with at least one rack (not a rack turntable). I bought the JennAir, my husband installed it before the range was here. Once the range was here it did NOT match (even though I was assured it would). The microwave had a blue hue to it while the Bosch has no blue to it's stainless. It drove me nuts! I told Lowe's about it when I was shopping for something else and they said "no problem, just take it down and we will exchange it for one that matches." I was shocked since I had had it for 26 days already. They gave me a full refund and I got the GE Profile Convection (I think 1750 or 1740), not the Advantium. They look great together!

I'm wavering between the NIT 800 series and the NITP Benchmark series also. The only difference that I can see is that Benchmark has the flex induction for $500 more and requires a 50 amp circuit instead of 30A. Both recognize and adjust to different pot sizes ("Pot Sense") and both have shut off timers for each individual hob. Combining two hobs to form a single larger heating surface seems kinda cool. However, I have grill and griddle inserts to replace two burners as a single surface and didn't use them (other than for additional counter space) after the novelty wore off. Which was quickly. My sister and her husband used her griddle and grill inserts a lot when they had 4 children at home. After that, eventually never. If I confirm that the only difference is flex induction, then I'm going to save myself $500.

I really like several features of my Electrolux slide in induction range. It has around 19-21 steps for the cooktop hobs and three direct select one touch power levels, power boost, medium, and low which is an extremely low level of heating. The convection oven has a two speed fan using high speed for preheating and also convection roast and perfect turkey mode using temperature probe and i think also convection broil. The full extension roller rack is so easy to use. My model was built Nov. 2011 so current model may vary in some respects, front door styling for sure. I had an extended warranty repair 2 1/2 years in due to power company short and power surge which burnt a control board but 7 or so years since have been problem free, I do wonder sometimes how much longer that will continue but fingers crossed. It operates on a minimum 40 amp 240 volt circuit so no wiring upgrade from old electric range was needed.
