When this song came out, my brother Mike used to sing along with it, but he would sing "Halloween, Halloween, prettiest time I've ever seen. Women then will treat you mean, at Halloween." I think Mike was about six or seven at the time, and he had been to Abilene, Texas, but I believe this song is about Kansas.
