That's awfully close to white and with kids and pets? I'd get nice soft top-grain leather in a light-toned neutral caramel.

@tracefloyd I know. I am SURE I will regret this. But that’s why I’m not getting my dream couch right now. This one is very budget friendly. I’ll go for one heavier on the wallet when things aren’t so chaotic here. I was contemplating doing a caramel leather for the second couch. Do you think that’s too different? If i stuck with the grey - what colour would you compliment with it for the second couch and the two swivel chairs?

Or. Maybe two couches the same? And then brown leather chairs?

I don't know how why you need two couches and two side chairs for a family of four. If you're contemplating a leather couch, just get that one and the two side chairs and skip the gray couch. Especially on a budget. And yes, the two couches would be too different and look odd.

If you're thinking you might need extra seating, get an extra large ottoman instead of a coffee table. A four foot square ottoman can seat four during a get-together. If your swivels are a nice tan or chamois or gray fabric then the ottoman could be a deep accent in a forest green, teal or rust. Wow, that would be nice.

I took a while to post...yes the two gray sofas and two leather swivels would be nice.

My husband is long. We like to watch TV in the evenings. I am actually looking forward to not having to share a couch with him in the new house. Lol. Said with love! And at any given time we usually have a grandparent or two around visiting. I enjoy hosting. So I want to have seating options. I didn’t even consider not having a second couch? I just think it’ll work for us. So now I’m leaning towards the two same couches. Love your suggestion with the ottoman. I actually was eyeing up some dark green choices.

The arms on your sofa are good as a headrest when stretched out. I do this alot on ours to watch TV...although it can put me to sleep. I've missed alot of movie endings lol. Happy Turkey Day!

I love the look of two of the same color couches in a room. In fact, what you describe is one is my favorite furniture setups. I say go for it but keep in mind that with 2 young kids, they might not stay the same light grey/ nearly white color long. In my house that wouldn't last a full day.

Haha @tracefloyd My husband is always falling asleep on the couch! Me, I need to remain somewhat upright because I hate falling asleep on the couch. Waking up confused and having to trek up the stairs is not fun for me, lol. Hope you had a great Turkey day…we’re in Canada so we had ours in October!! We’re full steam ahead for Christmas now. @ilikefriday I hear you. And I have gone back and forth with the colour so much - but with a lower budget couch, I feel like I can swallow a few stains over the years and then get my dream couch when my kids aren’t as much of a liability. Lol. That will happen eventually, right?!
I just can’t get past wanting things to be bright. I’m sure you’ll see me posting here in a few months time for the best stain removers, lol.

But honestly - thanks for your input. I wasn’t sure if the two of the same couches would be too much but a lot of google searches shows just that! Now to find the perfect barrel swivel chair - I have a tendency to make things up in my head then I’m all rock brain when furniture shopping because I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for

At the time I was looking for a sofa I longed for two of the exact same but they wouldn't fit in my living room. I had to settle for a sofa and chaise from the same line, in the same color. Please update us with a photo once everything is in place! It's so much fun searching for the perfect piece.

The sofa photo looks nice. Me, I have 2 cats so looking for velvet sofa because they don’t seem to scratch on velvet. But are your cushions detached so you can flip them or spot clean?
