Perhaps they were trying for an ”ombré” look

I feel like if I found a piece of furniture that had been actually damaged in this way it might be interesting, but the fake version is a little odd.

For some, it's stylish. For others, it's a trigger.

It makes me feel really sad that something which would be a huge tragedy for someone is being turned into a design statement. Ugh.

Looks even more flood damaged against the concrete showroom floor.

DD2 has a simliar, but larger, cabinet she bought 12+ yrs ago, but it is raw wood. I used it in our last house, then she got it back when we moved.

$3,000? Wow. I can't imagine that fashioning fake prmitive stuff is that difficult.

Well I just had to follow the link provided to see how in the world they were pitching this particular line. Apparently it is lyrical (twice) and "expresses the elegance of simplicity and the essence of comfort". I think it looks like it's rotting. :-(

I feel bad for the tree that gave its life for this

But what if you put it on a gorgeous rug instead of that dismal concrete? I have a suspicion it just might land differently.

    Yes, it could.

Just coming back after my initial view, to see the comments and learn that this is intentional? This is like the shabby chic look. If I want something waterstained or beat up, can’t I just go to my basement?

Maybe there's something wrong with my taste, but I don't dislike it.

I think in the right place it could be okay.

Dear God that's ugly!!! If I saw that in somebody's house, I'd sarcastically offer to get a gallon of gas, & a match...... You know, to put it out of my misery.......🤓🤭😈
