which ones are from big box stores
Comments (3)I put a buyers guide on eBay. It's about 60% of what I'd like to say but I ran out of space. Why they would limit space on those things I have no idea. There is also a little bit of info on Deere's site. When looking at the new tractors, you need to click on "NON-CURRENT EQUIPMENT." There you will find info on 316, 318, 322, 425, 435, 445, LT, LX, GT, GX, and X400-500 (now X700). The department store models are the L100-130, LA100-150, G100, G110, 102, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155C, and 190C. And they all have the same awkward styling, looking nothing like the dealer-only models. Here is a link that might be useful: gt guide...See MoreLess bulbs in big box stores this year?
Comments (18)A few weeks ago, like right after Thanksgiving, I convinced my hubby to make a 2 hour drive to Knoxville, TN. I told him I was going to do some early X'mas shopping for the kids. Of course I had to pass by Lowes, HD, Target and Walmart. There was practically no Amaryllis bulbs. I don't know if they got sold out or if there was just not much stock this year. I went home very dissapointed that day. Today I have very good news though. I went to Food City, a local grocery store, and was so surprised to see blooming and about to bloom amaryllises. They were all Hadeco bulbs grown in Canada with 2 to 3 scapes per pot and got leaves too. Very nice and healthy ones. The varieties were Wedding Dance, Candy Floss, Razzmatazz and Blushing Bride. I asked the florist when they arrived and she said like 3 days ago and that most probably they won't have anymore of them. They were selling them for $10.99 and I got all 5 of them(that was all that was left). I was thinking, if I'm going to give amaryllises as gifts, this was a better buy than the $5-$8 boxed ones that you don't even know if they would bloom or bloom true to its name if ever. The florist called their other branch, 30 mins away, and was told that they still have 10 pots of those amaryllises. I will definitely be there tomorrow morning right after I drop off the little ones in school. By the way, I'm keeping the Wedding Dance and Blushing Bride...hehehe!...See Morewhich seeds should store in fridge & which at room temp?
Comments (3)Hi Tumblingtoms, Being that you are down in Florida, my first question to you would be, do you have central air? If yes and your home is a steady cool temp year round, storing them in a cool dark dry spot in your home will do quite well. of course there is variation in plant families, but most of what you listed will do well if you start them 5 years from now kept in a home down there with central air. Some things that are often listed with short viability - lettuce, onions, some herbs. If no, I would keep them in a fridge. The combination of heat and humidity are what really hurt seed viability. Make sure they are dry first, you don't want mold to form while stored in the fridge. If you really want to keep seeds indefinitely, you can put them in an air tight container in a freezer. There are a few things you must know first. The seeds must be really dry. Trying to store them with not enough moisture gone, will kill them. Also, you must let the container come to room temp before opening or you will kill the seed. If you plan on retrieving seeds from the freezer once a year, this is no problem. If you are trading seeds, this would be a pain. Hope this helps, Remy...See MoreAre Mohawk and Shaw the same at floor stores and Box stores?
Comments (2)Box stores have many SKU's developed strictly for them, to hit a price point, and they do NOT have the same specs as those found at flooring stores. They also have a higher % of cull allowed than do products intended for flooring stores. That s straight from the mill manager. That 1.99 floor can end up acually costing you 2.50 with that 20% cull over a flooring store's 5% allowable cull....See Moreken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5
