Suggest you stay away from Kiwi and Wisteria. Both are very heavy vines which can 'eat' the house. About 40 years I was faced with a similar situation. We constructed a normal full trellis that stretched from post to post painted the house color. It was attached in such a manner that we could lay it back for house painting when necessary. Then I planted two white seedless grape vines at the base. Grapes should be cut back in early spring and quickly regrow. Easy to secure and train on a trellis. And, you have a food crop. Last year I was back in that town and stopped at the old homestead. Introduced myself. Their first question was, "Did you plant the grapes? We love them!" It was fun to revisit all my original plantings which had been well cared for by various owners. Very few changes in the original plan had been made over the years.

I, too, am porchless altho' I have a covered breezeway between the house and garage that has served as one for generations. It's also my winter sowing pot ghetto December-April. This time of year there are several folding tables and other miscellaneous raised surfaces to hold all my winter sown sprouts--either in pots or still in their milk jug bottoms--while they get some size to them before being planted out. Once their number goes down as the season progresses, there's room for a couple of lawn chairs where I can sit, relax and rest a spell from garden chores, or take cover from summer storms. The breezeway is exactly that too--it runs east/west so there's nearly always a breath of air moving through it. The birds fly through it on their way from the bird feeders that hang in the crabapple tree out front to the trees down at the back of the property. The chipmunks zip through it as well, chasing each other or carrying seeds from the bird feeders to stash in their burrows off the back side of it.

The package is going out today. I was waiting on amazon for the window sill flower garden kit and the coloring book with drink recipes. Well, the garden kit was sort of, kind of delivered yesterday. It was delivered to the side of my house in a secure spot (long driveway, not visible from street) and I picked it up within 20 minutes of its arrival. But the envelope was empty! It was easy to open the envelope and close it up again. Amazon refunded the purchase price. Under "tracking" I see that it was sent by "Amazon deliveries." I wonder where it was pinched? I imagine the driver might have wondered why it was so light, but people order decals, stickers, photos, etc that weigh almost nothing. Worth noting, though, the envelope weight said .4 lbs. I don't think it was a porch pirate thing as it wasn't visible from the road and I would think most thieves would take the whole envelope and not spend the time carefully opening it and removing the contents. The coloring book was delivered via USPS and arrived with my mail.

@Brianne Gandy - thanks for picture which clarifies things. Yes to your light placements & maybe add one at the inside corner of garage & house. I’d say no to shiplap on that section between windows but yes to some kind of metal wall hanging there. At 6’ wide, there’s enough room for 2 chairs - even rocking chairs - with a small table between them. If the section of pavers under the windows is 6’ wide, looks like section along garage is at least 12’ wide? My thought is to draw an imaginary line from the right edge of the window at left of door over to garage wall. See if that triangular space is large enough to place a circular table - larger than a bistro table size- with 4 chairs around it. This will give you the 2 seating areas you want with 2 very different looks. Place at least 3 large planters with evergreen plantings in them along the garage wall from the garage corner to edge of imaginary triangle space. You’ll need to water year round as under the eves so no rain. I have big saucers on my big pots to catch water & not have it all over pavers. I also have my large pots on plant caddies so I can easily move them when needed. Place 2 more large pots, one at right of front door, the other one at far end of narrow side of pavers to right of chairs. Maybe put very colorful flowering plants in those two. Last, but certainly just as important, remove the grass from left corner of pavers at garage end & all the way up past front of tree & to right corner of house. Fill this planting bed with flowering shrubs & evergreens. Lay a flagstone path through the bed from about the left corner of pavers over to the sitting area btween the two windows. This connects one end of pavers to the other & gives another nice option for how to walk over to that area. If you’re not an experienced gardner, get design help from local nursery. Having that planting bed will add huge curb appeal to your nice home.
