Front Door Color, Need Immediate Help Please

We are renovating our own home. We are using a high end Pella door. But I don't like the dead red color. We only have a couple days of good weather to prime/spray with epoxy to change the color.

Any suggestions on color? I have found corbels that match ones at the roof top. They will go at the bottom of the bump out flanking the front door.

We will be selling the house so the color cannot be too controversial. I appreciate any suggestions.

The door is not the problem; I'd be more concerned about the carnival tent striping of the Tudor effect trim which is very poorly done/.

I would paint the door white to go with the slider or black. I would also tone down the outlined trim to match the white behind it.

Door and sidelights red (recommend an old Sherwin Williams color from the Martha Stewart Signature Collection called Red Miso #8383) Trim should be same color as house trim. There is a factor of color hierarchy that you can defer to if you wish - color hierarchy is not about rules, it's about logic, wayfinding and guidelines. Organizing sidelights and door together in same color makes sense. Painting the door trim the same as the house trim provides continuity = consistency which facilitates wayfinding. Using color hierarchies to organize an exterior built environ will result in logical wayfinding and it all adds up to what is often referred to as curb appeal. Curb appeal includes, from the curb the structure looks good, makes sense, and subconsciously you immediately and intuitively know how to navigate the building. i.e. you sense the main, front entrance and know what to do and where to go to enter the building without having to think about it. Strategic color hierarchies help you instinctively find your way. Wayfinding. .... and people think trim is just trim. ;)

Front doors should stand out and be welcoming, color that pops. You could try something like a Raspberry Truffle in the reds, or maybe a Bermuda Blue.

This is a recommended color from SW for Mindful Gray…homburg gray. I would do this on the shutters and the garage doors and leave the wood door as is. The two middle windows shouldn’t have shutters as the won’t fit appropriately, but you are not painting the siding and the darker outlines of the shutters will show if you don’t replace what was there. Personally, would like the house with out shutters and would probably paint the siding and garage doors and have no shutters at all.

Wood would have been nice but that's not possible so I would say white (door and trim) is your best option especially if your plan is to sell the house.

Color is so subjective. In the close up pic, I really like the color, but in the wider shots all I can see is the zebra effect of the white with dark boards and the door just disappears because of it. Do you like the way the white portion looks? I'd be leery of adding a bright color to the door because it will compete with the stripes.
If you like the striping, then what about a white door?

Your gray is so neutral, you could use just about any color you want. Yellow always looks nice with gray but I don't think it's right for the style of your home:

I would leave that decision to the next owners since no matter what you do they will change the colour to their tastes so why bother.

The house was built in 1909 and is one of the original houses to in the community. Our neighborhood has many painted tudor houses with cross beams.They are quite popular in the area. Thanks for your suggestions.

Tudors/Tudor Revivals are very misunderstood on this board. Of course your timbers are wonderful and appropriate.

I agree with leaving the door as is or painting white, since you’re planning to sell.

what about a brighter but still deep/classic red - I was thinking about the Ben Moore historical collection of reds - I think this might be classic burgundy

I like the red, and for sure wouldn't degrade the paint just before inviting people to scrape in and out while visiting!
