36" Cast Iron Farmhouse Sink for 39" base cabinet?

Hi there - I have a 39" base cabinet and am searching for a cast iron farmhouse sink that is at least 36" ... Kohler does not appear to make one this wide. Are there others you would recommend? Are those with workstation accessories worth it? Would appreciate any links or reviews if you have one. I can fit the larger sink so that is my preference to find one that is at least 36" for the 39" base cabinet.

FWIW, I considered stainless steel apron sink because there are more options available in the larger size I am searching for. My faucet is polished nickel as is my cabinet hardware. The cabinets are white and nothing else will be stainless (for example, the appliances are all panel) so I thought stainless my clash and it may be better to stick with a white cast iron apron.

This is a 36" Elkay Short Apron Ferguson workstation model in Ricotta (bright white). Unlke cast iron, the color goes all the way through the sink. It's a great sink and I've sold quite a few.

You can use it in a 39" cabinet, however, you'll have to clip each drawer end and return them to the side of the apron:

I'd go with the 36" bases if I wanted them and if after 15 years, the slides wear out, go crazy and replace the slides. But...for dishes maybe the 24s would be better? Quick--arrange your dishes how you'd want them in drawers and see if you'd waste too much space with the 24s. I generally like giant drawers because you only have to open one thing to see everything, but functionally, for everyday dishware, I'm not sure. But I wouldn't worry about the drawer glides.

I have a custom EZ reach type cabinet which is 48" x just under 42". Here's a picture of the closed cabinet. It consists of 3 doors - 2 have handles, the third is on the right. It's hinged to the one on the right with the handle. Here the 2 doors with the handles are opened: Here it is with the hinged right door open as well. My kitchen is fairly small and I can't get back far enough to get a more distant view. All my everyday pots/pans/serving dishes are right up front. Depends. Are your cabinets framed or frameless. You can "SCOOP" a framed cabinet. The strength of a framed cabinet is at it's 4 corners. Scooping the sides will not affect its integrity. However, it's not a good idea to scoop the sides of a frameless cabinet. It's weight distribution is all around the perimeter of the cabinet. Only other con to point out, is it will be difficult to replace your sink down the road (if need be). It would require removing the countertop to replace your sink. The top and/or backsplash could be damaged during this process. If your cabinets are framed, you can always consider scooping the side and then ordering the sink in a TOP MOUNT style, not undermount. Then you can replace your sink if needed. So you have to decide: 1. Choose a Smaller Undermount 2. Scoop Sides and get the Under mount Elkay Sink (w/ future risks!) 3. DON'T scoop sides and get the Elkay Sink in a top mount version. With the growing popularity of granite and quartz tops, the problem of 'trapped sinks' will continue to be potential problems for those homeowners down the road. The Whitehaven "apron" front of the sink goes over the frame of the cabinet instead of the cabinet needing to be cut to the exact size of the sink. This makes it easier to get a good looking fit. The "short apron" style is often used in remodels that are keeping the cabinets because the apron is shorter and goes over the frame left when the upper faux drawer front of the cabinet is removed. The sink has to be the size for the base or it will not adequately cover the frame.This is what I used in my remodel. The Whitehaven also has a divided bowl style, but it is not a 50/50 divide. A more traditional farmhouse sink like this Rohl fireclay sink has sides all around. I defer to @Joseph Corlett, LLC in terms of installation expertise.

I have a work station style farmhouse sink and it is fantastic in terms of functionality. It enables me to have a relatively large sink in my small urban kitchen since a portion of the sink effectively becomes counter - both to prep obviously but also I keep the "grid" on top most of the time and I can use it for bags when coming home from the store or to dry produce or hand washed stuff without the need for a dishrack of some kind. It also keeps the counter much cleaner since prep is done over the sink directly.

Mine has an offset drain - to the rear and in back which increases the functionality of the sink since the pipes don't biset the sink cabinet so I can have both a garbage disposal plus a pull out trash receptacle (full size).

Mine is 36" in a 36" base in copper from Havens Metal.

I have a 36” Kohler castiron farm sink. I love it! Worth every penny!

The one on the left is the exact same one I bought. I like the divided sections for dish washing and I can still fit a cookie sheet flat on the left side.

I have the coordinating Kohler dish racks and the drain basket/disposal inserts. They are a must have with this sink to keep your dishes from getting chipped.
