I so appreciate everyone's comments. I went last week and got multiple chips of the same colors, taped them together (so my sample spot is a whopping 4" long instead of 1x1, but still, every little bit helps). Jagl, that Maison Blanche color is really lovely, and so is China Doll, which is quite close to it. But in the end I'm guessing we'll do Moderate White, which is a white with lots of tan in it. Marys1000, thanks for the tip about that brochure full of off-whites -- that's how I found the Moderate White. And I'm liking Sand for my kitchen and DR, so perhaps I'm close to making a decision. I think I'll live with it for a few days. Randita, thanks for the help with the finishes! I've heard good things about the Cashmere paint, but my boys (and husband!) are capable of marking up walls in places where you wouldn't think any marks would get, so I should probably go with eggshell for the bedroom. Much appreciated. You guys are great. Thanks for the input and the pics. I'll post again when I finally make my mind up!

Funcolors, Thank you so much for your insights on the color selections! It is a relief to hear that the wall colors of SW Nantucket Dune and SW Maison Blanche are OK. We are following your suggestions to do a SW Creamy ceiling instead of the SW Restful White. The two are very similar and restful white looks whiter than creamy to me. But my wife said she does not like a yellowish ceiling. We still have time for the interior trims/doors but we are seriously considering pure white you suggested. We examined dover white, aesthetic white before. Still need to figure out the 2 kids bedroom and the baby room. As we just let the kids pick their room colors by themselves and I do not think they have a lot of clues there, we need to step in to give them some help by revisting their decisions. Personally I do not like the ibis white. We would look at the Blue Drizzle SW1487 for my daugther's room. I am starting to get why semi-gloss over orange peel would not work. It would expose all the imperfections in the random texture itself. Am I right? Both the painter and the salesperson are getting me into oil for interior trims. Now I am not sure. Oil is harder to do but more durable; Becomes yellowshish and harder to touch up? I have seen a lot of good reviews about superpaint but we may need to use some of the ceiling paint just to save cost. I do insists primer plus two topcoats for both wall and ceilings. The painter and builder was still talking about two coats without primer for ceilings. I ready for the upcharge there. There is a lot of information that we need to digest and but we do we need to make decisions pretty quick. Sweet-tea: Thank you for you comments and that frees me from some of the worries about our wall color selections. I would look into your blue colors for the three kids/baby bedrooms. Gagesgranny, It says light grayish orange on some online color description. I do not know how to describe it even after I did some test painting on the walls. Thanks again!

Just painted our whole home SW Softer Tan. Maison Blanche was 2nd option but with our lighting, it was too light. We did everything the same color; ceilings in flat and walls in low luster (all low luster in baths). Trim in SW Dover White. I love it. Such a beautiful change from flat and scuffed up builder's griege from from two owners ago. We chose the same colors for both wall and ceiling because it's a smaller space, moderately high ceilings and desire for continuity. Without ceiling crown moulding the transition would be stark and weird. I feel white on the ceiling is best with stronger wall colors; Maison Blanche is not that. However a white ceiling color such as Greek Villa would allow MB to have a role. We accidentally purchased MB (long story) and rolled it on the ceiling; it was so light, it could be have been a ceiling paint for a darker color.

I feel your pain! I got the Accessible beige sample and almost don't want to try it just go for it. Colors are so weird and can make you feel crazy! At least me:) We have divine white cabs and I feel they change from warm to cool. My husband has his office cabinets painted DW too and they look totally different from our home (actually I think better and his counters are slightly more cool). This is DW next to Nomadic Desert. Have you ever thought of hiring a color expert like Kylie? Maybe for such a large space would be good to get a 2nd set of eyes? Or just go for one and hope for the best. I know I have stressed too much about it:) And no one needs to do that.
