Has anybody heard from her? I think she is in the Sarasota area. Probably a little busy....
Yes - we had to evacuate and just got settled at an inland hotel.
Hoping the storm doesn't follow us here...
Cpartist doesnt frequent the KT. It looks like she has enabled messages so you might try that.
Ian is the Hurricane coming into the west coast of Florida.....
Stove - center of island or along the edge?
Getting ready to sell our condo
Any designers/home decorators out there?
So - who of you are in Florida?
Carolb, I'm glad you're inland and hope you stay safe. And hope your home rides it out in good shape!
Carolb, i hooe you fare well and your home does, too. Keep us posted.
Carol, wishing you all the best.
Whew Carol! , so glad you got out of the way as Venice looks right in the line of fire. Hope your home survives the worst of it and you find things mostly undamaged upon your return.
I've been thinking about you, Carol! Hope you're back home soon!
stay safe! I hope cpartist/dh are safe! I have 2 nephews and a niece in Fl - will need to check on them.
Poor Sanibel! Looks like it will take a direct hit.
On a lighter note....
The very rare Scaphella Junonia shell shows up after hurricanes. On a serious note, I hope nobody's on Sanibel Island to find them.
My grandma is in Rotonda West which took a direct hit. My uncle lives with her and he hasn't updated since this afternoon. I'm hoping everything is ok and they just lost power. I've tried all the phone numbers and they are all straight to voicemail.
Happy to see Ian didn't stall and dump rain for days. Stay safe, KT friends!
Thanks for the good wishes, all. We're back home safe and sound and cleaning up. No serious damage to speak of, other than lots of plant debris. We are very, very fortunate.
Our home never lost power, but we turned off power and water before we left, as advised by authorities, so I packed up lots of things from the freezer and fridge into coolers to take with, and now have a lot of thawed stuff to cook.
Ian almost did follow us, we were in Winter Haven and it came pretty close. Our hotel room lost power on Wed. night, but the room stayed cool and comfortable so we could sleep, and by Thurs. morning, were able to pack and leave for home.
