Last year I planted a small tree in the parking lot at my job. This year It started showing growth of of green leaves. so far so good, I detached some small branches near the ground so that it can grow taller and can provide shade. After the plant started dying and now is completely dead. It was not because of lack of water, because another plant perhaps 3 feet from it is still alive, neither I added some fertilizer when watering the plant. (too much fertilizer can kill the plant. I didn't do anything else, the only conclusion I can draw the detaching the branches near the ground was some sort of shock to the plant and it died. what do you think?
