Pattern placement: Taj Mahal quartzite island
Comments (4)Thanks for the feedback! Verbo, this is just a countertop replacement on an existing cabinet base, so the cooking zone is stuck there, unfortunately. There is 28” on one side and 42” on the other. We are actually extending the island on the one side, so think we will be okay for prep space, as we haven’t had a problem over the last few years with the smaller space. Would love to have moved the range, but our space didn’t really allow for it. The venting has seemed adequate, though. So we were just deciding how to have the slab cut. Chispa, the 2 clipped corners follow the angled lines of the cabinet there and match clipped corners on the perimeter counter at that end. The other end will have an overhang with a seating area, so we did not clip the corners there (and it matches the nearest corners on the perimeter there). I probably wouldn’t have chosen if starting from scratch, but we are just doing a “facelift,” so working with some existing design elements. Thanks again for input!...See Moregrey Taj Mahal quartzite countertop top turned green
Comments (8)Resin is applied to any cracks/fissures in the slabs when they are processed at the quarry. It act as a filler and holds/glues unstable section together. Looks like your resin got discolored or the lighting in the slab yard didn't make their actual color that obvious. Here is a resin patch in the slab used for my island. I knew there would be some, but you hardly ever notice them when viewing the slabs vertically in a badly lit warehouse!...See MoreWall Paint colors for Taj Mahal Quartzite with Medium Brown Cabinets
Comments (31)Yes decide on your lighting first! I was constantly fighting w my contactor making me pick paint colors before my lights were even installed. I refused saying that you HAVE to have your lighting in your space before choosing colors and they said no you dont; have to and I responded well only if you care its done right the first time. Off topic thought do you know what stain is on your cabinets if they were custom? I have Taj Quartzite and cream cabinets but addinga custom wood hutch and deciding stain. Comments (4)I don't like this slab. Fissures are natural and to be expected with this stone, but the fissuring is excessive and much too obvious on the top part of the stone and going down on the diagonal on the one side. It looks all scratched up in the distance shot, even though it's not....See MoreRelated Professionals
