Here are two options for your room. Use the height of the top of the closet as your cut off point.

For reference, I am 5'7, which is basically the exact height of the bottom window sill of that taller window.

I thought of that, doing a darker or lighter cieling, and it looks a little too playful and amateur to me? I want this bedroom to feel regal and comforting.

Suspend a metal canopy from the ceiling.

You don't have to paint the ceiling bright white... you could paint the ceiling an off-white, or a gray-er white. Ultimately though, the ceiling is tall, period. When your furnishings are in there, and your artwork hung at the appropriate, human-level height, and you put nothing up near the ceiling, then you'll likely forget about how tall it is. (But you might need a ceiling fan up there.)

I love high ceilings! I would not even bothered with it.

Those pictures I sent don't do it justice. Tomorrow, I'm going to send a picture of it with me in there so you can see how massive that room is. That cieling is UNTOUCHABLE without a tall ladder or a 39 and a half foot pole. Or both.

But Mrs. S. We are already planning on installing some hanging lights in there. Maybe a nice chiq chandelier and some pendants, which means no cieling fan (it would swing the lights like mad)

I also thought of painting the cieling the same color blue so that it's hard to distinguish it from the walls... Maybe the dark cieling and hanging lights would do the trick?

But that still doesn't answer what the walls should be... So far I'm leaning towards painting the upper half of all the walls and the cieling dark blue, similar to beverly's suggestion. And then the lower half will be the lighter white or gray.

I would take Bev and Mrs. S and combine them. Paint your blue on the lower portion to the top of the closet level on all four walls. Paint everything above the blue in your greige including the ceiling.

This will simplify and unite the room by providing the eye a respite from the many angles, colors, and window heights. Soothing yet classy.

Thanks for the feedback tracefloyd, I agree that it needs some sort of uniting element throughout. But would making the top part of the room greige look tacky? No offense to Beverly but it sorta looks strange to me, I've never seen or imagined that style until this thread.

Also I feel like it would draw more attention to the high cieling to have it be a starkly lighter color.

I painted the walls blue and white. Not greige. The color of the wall needs to coordinate with the flooring and the bedding. Usually, wall paint is the last selection for a bedroom.

Do you like the suspended bed canopy? It's done all the time in the New York lofts that have immense ceilings to create a space.

I've been suggesting them since the 70s.

Oh, I didn't know what color it was in your simulated render, I'm saying the color of the other non-blue walls in the room is currently greige.

I'm open to the suspended bed canopy... We already made holes for the lighting however so it would be around a light.

A dark ceiling should make it look lower. I have a bedroom that is not too different than yours except mine has a tray ceiling. You could always add that - it brings the edges down. Or just some molding. Then there are a lot of different ways you can paint it. I am attaching pictures that show different ways to do this. I included a dining room picture because it has a navy ceiling.

Is this house new to you and you're not used to the size of the room? I moved from a colonial with 7.5' ceilings to this house with the high tray ceiling 2+ years ago. It's definitely a different feeling. It doesn't bother me, but you are clearly uncomfortable in yours, which isn't good for a bedroom. Maybe one of these pictures will give you an idea which will help.

Hmm I'm liking that look, judianna. I'll see what my wife thinks of it, she's worried about it being too white.

And it is new to us, kandrews. We are used to living in 8' high rooms.

It's not so much the height of the room on it's own, it's also the length and width, this room is like a square box and we feel like mice walking around in it trying to find a comfortable corner to seek refuge... Not as comfy cozy as we'd like our bedroom...

I know it will be better with furniture and fixtures though.

When you get ready to decorate, do that down where you'll live in the space. Don't try to decorate high up, but keep decor below door frames. Generally, art should be centered 5' above the floor or hung 5" above a piece of furniture. You may want to make adjustments due to your own height; don't let the ceilings or tall windows throw you off when positioning your decor.

Truthfully, 15x15 is not that large of a room. You want the ceilings to feel tall so that it does not feel so closed in.
