I've been wanting a seagrass chair for my planning desk. The back will show...thought it would be cute! Found one at the thrift store...didn't get it...a month ago. Another one just showed up...it's mine! $9! ❤️

Good find on the chair. Just food today. Our local grocery store at camp is having a two day sale starting today . I got sweet onions 79 cents a lb, boneless chicken breast for $2.48 a lb, 1lb Blue bonnet margarine 88 cents and 24 pkg of water for 4/$9.

I went to a discounted bakery today that I had never been to. I bought some Natural Own Whole Grain bread for $2.00, some cinnamon bread for $1.50 and some oyster crackers for $2.00 a bag,

I also stopped by a garage sale and bought a terra cotta garlic pot for .25 and it even came with some dried out garlic. They had a pile of magazines that I'm pretty sure are free at the grocery store. They wanted .25 each and I was only looking for them for my gf to cut them up to make an alphabet scrapbook for her dgd. I tried to get them free, but no go. I will be driving by it again to go pick up my granddog and will pull up and ask if they still have them. It will be about 5:45, they close at 6:00 and its the last day.

Not a bargain, but good news from State Farm. They're refunding the $500 we were charged when we had to file a claim last year. We should never had had to file, but nobody was listening. Our upstairs neighbors at the Maui condo admitted they'd caused the leak that damaged our unit. However, this happened the day before we were to close on our sale of the condo, and we had to get moving on the cleanup. It's only taken *forever*, but we supposedly getting a check in the mail. It can go towards paying DH's BCBS deductible for his hospital stay last month: $2K and growing.

Got this not-pretty microwave cart for DD’s new apt., which has a wonky kitchen with no counter space. Free! I removed the handles and replaced them with chrome handles, and covered the drawer fronts with floral print peel & stick wallpaper that I had leftover from another project. Total cost, around $7. Sorry, I don’t have an ”after” pic. Also from our local Everything Is Free FB page, I got her basic white bedroom curtains and curtain rods, and two kitchen chairs. We are hoping to find some bargains on the local FB Marketplace when we are up there next week. She gets the keys on Mon…DH and I are staying for a couple of days to help. I am not ready for this but apparently she is!

I needed to replace the nearly-falling-apart cotton sheeting capris that I live in at home during the hot days - late in the season, so colors were limited, plus I wanted clearance prices. I finally googled the brand of one of the old ones (Erika) and came up with Boscov's - they actually also had a different brand, but pretty much identical, all cotton, and a couple of acceptable colors. Also had a 20% off coupon! even though shipping was a bit higher than I hoped - still, all told, I got 2 pair for $14 + change each. Capris Also I had a couple of good curb rescues: a George Kovacs ceiling pendant that was missing a globe (replaced from the local lighting store); a floor lamp that just needed a new socket, a table lamp that was perfect, and this Safavieh shag rug that needed a heavy cleaning - but turned out just fine! I'll probably sell the rug instead of donating since I had to put more than usual effort/time into it. Likewise the pendant - looks like it sells for $400-500 new - someone will get a bargain (my ceilings are too low in my small house to use it, too bad!)

I'm not a reseller but an opportunist taking advantage of a once in my life deal to get shop equipment I would never buy retail because the usage would never justify the expense. A multi billion dollar international company is downsizing their R&D department in my location closing the fabrication shop used to build prototypes designed by their team of engineers, and I just happen to know the guy tasked to get rid of a million dollars worth of equipment. The odd thing is corporate wants nothing to do with selling the stuff and local management could take it to the scrap yard for all they care. So the department head is giving some away to the employees and selling the stuff cheap for cash only with any money going into the departments "pizza fund". they only have 21 employee's and all are engineers with one boss. I'm just out to upgrade with better equipment in my 30' x 40' shop on the cheap so I'm only getting stuff I want to use with no desire to sell things. The extra drill bits I gave away was a deal where I had to take them all and couldn't cherry pick what i needed.

Just food here too. A huge pork roast for 97c lb. Strip steak $6.99 lb for the grill. Don't find too many good prices on food these days.

I picked up some clearance perennials at Lowe's for about $2 each. I just came in from planting them.

@eld6161...Planning desks are a built-in kitchen desk. I did purchase something unusual tho....a bat house. I have a little brown bat that's hanging above my French doors. I just want to relocate him....so I purchased a new home for him/her. 🦇 $16.99/Tractor Supply
