Comments (1)What are you willing/able to do? What, specifically, are you unhappy with? Are you considering replacing the furniture? Paint the walls? Without more information it's difficult for me to make suggestions. However, I'd strongly suggest moving that chair away from the draperies/window. And also change the paint color. Is the room as small as it looks in these pictures? If so, that furniture, in my opinion, is far too large. When you say "Beautify my living room again" (again being the word I'm referring to), what did it look like before when you considered it beautiful? I think you've got a lot to work with. It would also probably be a good idea for you to post this also in the Home Decorating Forum....See MoreUnique situation, family room adjacent to sunken living room PLS HELP
Comments (2)I would leave it as it is. Its a lot of work, and you may not be able to match the flooring. A wider step can be dangerous too. You have a good sized opening, and it looks good the way it is. If the floors were level, I may feel a bit different about it, but, no matter what, with the step down, it will not all be an open nice room, it will always be two rooms, and you will have removed walls where furniture needs to go, and created a dangerous step down area, that will most likely need a railing to separate the two areas....See Moreliving room decor help!
Comments (4)Unfortunately the focal point is not the fireplace wall, but the blank wall; it‘s overwhelming the room. Updating the space next to fireplace and adding cushions in the end won’t really help much. The entire room should be considered and whatever you decide to do, be sure you have an overall concept. It’s such an important room. Suggest a smaller TV on a swivel if needed with seating - I’d place couch on wall with large art, some lighting and two chairs You would have to measure out to see what would work best. Instead of just considering wall next to fireplace, be sure mantle is tied in style wise and it all feels connected to rest of room. Studio McGee has a grest line of accessories at Target at really good prices. Cushions are the easiest decision and should come last. Your room is neutral so any color combo would work; it’s really a personal preference/what flows with other rooms....See MoreRL Relocation LLC
