What color should this porch and front door be?

Hello all -

I am looking to refresh the deck and the exterior doors with a fresh coat of paint or stain.

What color do you suggest? See picture above.

A little bit more context:

- Brown metal roof

- Yellow/tan-ish vinyl siding

- White window trim

- Bright/inviting paint colors are encouraged :)

- All paint color suggestions are welcomed :) :)

Your help is greatly appreciated in advance...thank you so much!!

Anytime you post a question here you will get other ideas too that is the nature of designers for sure , we spot things you might not have thought about. I agree the porch needs to balance out the roof and I do wonder why no window in that roof it would look totally better with windows to match the ones below that bump up. IMO better landscaping and walkway to the front door would both be huge improvements too. The front door needs some glass for sure and maybe a nice aqua color to draw the eye. It does not need a storm door FYI but if you like the breeze get a Phantom screen. I won't apoligize since these things are not decided in a vacuum

I think the fade potential comes from two things; whether the color is from natural earth pigments or chemical pigments (earth is the most stable) Where synthetic colorant is mixed with earth pigments is probably where the biggest surprises can happen. And is the vehicle of the paint itself is of the highest quality, is will have more UV blockers and not subject the colorant to as much exposure. The UV resistance fades over time, but front doors seem to get recoated on an accelerated schedule anyway. My anecdote is from the next town over; they painted their imposing brick Victorian city hall a dark wine red, and it has now faded to a dusty plum ! Casey

I like the idea of an orange-family color as well - a muted salmon or coral would be nice. Just make sure you choose something that will coordinate with the brick stairs, since they are right next to the door as well.

A dark, bold emerald green could work well. I think a vivid color door would make your house look modern. A light blue door would matches with the color of your house and would be very beautiful to look at.

My first thought is to paint all the yellow siding the color of the metal roof. Because the windows are white, possibly the railings and porch floor could be as well.

Your house could also handle painting the door, floor railings the same color.

I really think the yellow is just too meh.
