Need kitchen cabinet color idea
Comments (10)Since you are on a tight budget, please don’t be discouraged. It is amazing what some paint will do! Start with painting the walls in a lighter color as suggested. If you like a light blueish green, I did my house in sherwin Williams sea salt. It looks great with my warm wood cabinets, even though it is kind of a cooler color. I just love it. This is not my house Btw! It also would look great if you then wanted to paint the cabinets white. That would be my step two. It will make all the difference to brighten up the space. Your floors are very pretty! Best wishes....See MoreArticle about “new” neutral for kitchens
Comments (10)I was really curious to see what it would turn out to be- and I almost thought it might be real wood (like oak--- been off trend long enough you know?).... It's nice but I honestly don't see it as much different from the still beloved white. I guess it might just catch on because there's enough of a nuance to it to perhaps make white look dated? I don't mean to disparage it, as it's very nice and soft looking but I wonder if I am just becoming very anti decorating trend and such. The truth is, we are looking at homes, and I try to think to myself what WILL the next trend be for cabinets. I do think white will never be out of style as it's just to timeless, but I agree that planned obsolescence factors a lot into design. I think our eyes (and egos) crave something fresh and new,...See Morekitchen cabinets color idea
Comments (17)I'd agree white cabs are your best bet. You'll probably want to pull a white out of the countertop. Go get a bunch of swatches of different whites, probably leaning toward the greyed down whites or at least away from anything with a yellow or pink cast to it. However, if you want a color, your best bet with what you have going on there is probably either a green or a blue. It would have to be just the RIGHT green or blue. You could do a very soft green: Or green lowers and white uppers. Although this starts to be a lot of look. Or, if you're feeling very brave, a dark green I will note that (as GreenDesigns pointed out) most of the images one sees of green (even one that leans heavily into the blueish tones) tend to have warm wood. I did find one example with a greyer floor: Blue also has potential: If you can do some diy, you could even go get some fine moldings and dress those cabs up a little bit prior to painting: With either, brass hardware would warm things up a little bit....See MorePlease any ideas of good cabinet colors for my kitchen.
Comments (12)Are you keeping the foot print? Are you changing/ripping out anything? Is it JUST the cabinet colours that are being updated? You have multiple posts going about the same concerns but the answers to our questions are limited. You have multiple woods (the wood floor is lovely BTW) with multiple styles of doors/finishes. You need cohesion. It looks like you are struggling with the basics....like what your style is. Here are some hints: Flooring is OFTEN inspired or PAIRED with COUNTER TOPS. Cabinets are often used to contrast the counters (ie. dark counters = light cabinets). Backsplashes are often used to assist the counters to work with the cabinets. An island that is a 'different' colour is used to HIGHLIGHT an expensive upgrade or as a DIVA in the kitchen. It draws attention TO the kitchen...not away from it. Right now you have an entry level granite on the counter tops. You have high-value wood floors. You have wood cabinets that work well (tone on tone) with the floors. You have wooden built-ins that DO NOT work with the floors nor the kitchen (pink/salmon/pickled colour vs. golden brown wood tones). You really need to narrow down WHAT is being done and WHY you want it done. At this point a kitchen designer or a colour consultant would be money well spent. Before hiring someone, please pick up some magazines that have photos of things you LOVE. Cut them out and make a collage. This will help you/the designer figure out what you are 'after'....See Moreffpalms
