Concrete Floors - What's going on here?

Anyone have ideas on what's going on with these freshly polished concrete floors? They have the appearance of being dirty - like the substrate wasn't fully cleaned before they were sealed. It looks almost like if you had dirty water on the floor, it pooled, then dried leaving the sediment in little clusters. But of course this isn't on the surface. It's either sealed below, or something totaly different creating the same impression.

Would love to hear an opinion of someone with exerience with concrete floors.

For context: New build. For the lower floor, we opted for polished concrete floors. The slab was poured a few months ago. Pour came out very nice. Floors were protected over the course of framing, rough-in and drywall. Last week they were ground, polished and sealed. When we saw them at the end of the week, they gave the distinct appearance of being dirty. First thought was, oh, they just need to be mopped. Nope. The "dirt spots" (may not be dirt at all) are all below the surface. The spots are about as smooth as the other areas (not deeper or higher), appear to be below the sealer, and semi-random, but not entirely. There is a bit of an arc pattern to them that I presume matches the direction of the grinding.

I've seen TONS of polished and sealed concrete floors before - both in person and photos - but never something quite like this before.

Thanks in advance for any experienced perspectives on this.
