How to fix splash of sealer on quartzite?

Our stone was installed and we noticed there's a splash mark with splatters next to it. It looks like something spilled on it, but when you wipe it it's particularly hydrophobic right there. It completely repels water there unlike the rest of the countertop. It seems apparent that some sealer splashed and dried.
The fabricator said the best approach is to add more sealer all over, then buff it all down together and the excess where it splashed and dried will come off. Is this correct? I'd hate for them to add more on top only to realize that splash should've been removed first. The stone is leathered Taj Mahal in case it's relevant.Thank you!
