I love looking at the ads in those better than the articles. I was checking out Architectural Digest and apparently gold bracelets and large masses of diamonds will make you happy and make any moment "better". Most implied the possibility of a devastating depression if the advertised items were not a part of driving your astonishingly expensive sportscar. LOL! I like your Rename of Real Simple, Andie. Italy used "fruitwood" (various hardwoods) and sometimes pine for furniture. This doesn't look like pine. "Tipo Pallini" means "Pallini style", not a manufacturer's name I could find. That style is on the modern end - 1950s era? Nice chairs, with good lines. I'd leave the wood natural and give them a geometric interlocked circles upholstery.

I know this isn't a current post, but I just found this link to your forum on Google. Hello all! For anyone else who is still looking and finds you on a search engine--it took me all day to find the appropriate words to Google the right product--I also found something called Jiffy Grip Fabric; they have it on amazon.com. Amazon also has Slipper Grippers; they come in a few different colors. They can both be sewn or glued on. and machine washed; I don't know if the Jiffy Grip Fabric can be dried. Msrose - or, we could just remove our drywall and exchange it. I WANT that green in the mix, darn it! (kidding) And, if it makes you feel any better... I WOULD have painted 4 times but we were pressed to have the house ready for the appraisal and my partner was not in his usual patient "we'll paint it until you find the right color" mode. In fact, that's why I have Valspar/allen + roth instead of Ben Moore in the first place. He made me go get paint on a weekend. Yes, that was a crisis point for me. ;) So, I'm living with it. We'll see for how long. It's really a nice color. If only I wanted a blue DR. Good luck with it. I find picking a paint color soooo difficult. And, I'm the worst combination because a) I'm bad at visualizing those chips on the wall even after I splotch and b) I care a lot about getting the color right. If I only had one of those two things, life would be simpler.

Thank you Jinx!!! Oooooh the lighter color would work great for me! But like you, $600 is too much for that chair. PLUS LIKE YOU - I really don't have a place for it, I'd have to get rid of something. I bought an oak armchair LAST YEAR with the cane seat (I'm a sucker for cane), and have yet to find a spot for it. I have a couple of chairs I'm going to get rid of and then move things around. Thanks so much for sharing this!!

ETA!!!!! THEY HAVE PILLOWS IN THAT FABRIC!!! i'm ordering a swatch!

I wish it was pillow covers, but i can do pillows!!! I change mine out a few times a year. Most of our home is done in green/aqua/blue so I can use these in a couple of different places. HAHA what a bunch of enablers we are!

Ok, here's my bench. The one that is due to arrive sometime in 2023, but who the heck actually knows when.

And to be fair, Jinx helped me initially think about a new chair for an awkward space in my living room, but that went in a different direction when nothing quite felt right with the chairs. It’s been some time since I've shopped for new furniture, and I was astonished at how high prices are now. Seriously, I'd see chairs online that I thought would be less than $300 and they'd turn out to be five times that amount. Clearly, I'm out of touch. That slipper chair above is so pretty, but again, why so much money?

I have a similar bench, called a copper grove mendocino. I just checked Overstock, where I purchased it in 2016.....the price has tripled! WHAT! Slipper chairs AND benches....insane the prices have shot up....

FYI I have ordered from the Inside and the items were not very good quality. I haven’t ordered upholstered furniture but would hesitate to do so if custom / unreturnable.

Kswl, I’ve never heard of them; I’m glad you chimed in with experience. Like Tina, I’d probably just order a pillow — she has convinced me I need other ones to switch out once in a while. :D

@ratherbesewing yes, but the swatch shows "out of stock". Kind of weird, you can't get a swatch, but can get the fabric. I prefer not to order the fabric without first seeing a swatch, especially after KSWL's response above, and the lonely 2 star review of the fabric. : (
