KARRAN Quartz Sinks

I'm on the hunt for a new sink for my new counters which will be quartz.

Anyone have a Karran quartz sink?

I am coming from having an integrated Corian sink and I liked the how the material was quiet and didn't show water spots or get scratches. Not to be expected with SS. I didn't even know seamless undermount QUARTZ sinks were a thing. (Thank you @Joseph Corlett, LLC for clueing me in!)

Please no admonishments to get another Corian counter, so that I can have a Corian sink, for various reasons I'm not.

The links below are what I am looking at. (Does anyone with experience with offset drains like/not like them? Seems they are practical! Do they tend to splash less?)

Do stainless sinks have a more modern/contemporary look?...I've never seen the below quartz sinks in person.

PS - Joe or other installers, the specs say I need 36" cabinets and 24" of depth...my cabinets are 34" and 22.5" depth... might this sink still work? The details shown on the webpage say:

Inside bowl dimensions: 29” x 16-3/8” x 9”
Minimum cabinet size required: 36" sink base cabinet
Overall sink length (side to side): 31-3/4”
Overall sink width (front to back): 19-3/4"

If it won't fit I'd have to go to this model which is a tad smaller and does not have the offset drain option (it also says it is "quartz" and not "quartz composite" like the above sink, but I don't know what that means):

Karran is wrong; either of those sinks will undermount into a 33" (thirty-three inch, no typo) sink base cabinet as long as the sink is strapped, not clipped, into place. Karran is giving outside cabinet dimensions; you are giving inside cabinet dimensions.

They are both quartz composite sinks, no matter what the verbiage says.

The 670 has a slightly rounded top inside edge which will allow a very nice slight positive reveal which I highly recommend for looks and function. The 340 has a sharp edge to make a tight adhesive hard seamed color matched joint between the flange and the laminate or solid surface bottom. Again, while not recommended, I'll bet a good fabricator could seam undermount that sink into an engineered stone or granite top.

It's a great look, couldn't be more sanitary and maintainence free, however, this is an acrylic sink, not quartz composite, which would be easier technically.

@Joseph Corlett, LLC Phew, happy to know I can do the 670 in my space.

Is using straps a standard? I haven't heard of this before but I'm no plumber lmao.

Can you recommend a faucet brand? Open ended question for sure but I'm going nuts researching Delta vs Kraus vs Moen vs Hansgrohe vs Grihe vs Kohler vs (you get the picture). If I get the 670 I'll need to be able to pull out the sprayer far enough due to the offset drain... I'm not sure if I need functions like touchless...though the water filtering feature that some have are definitely tempting. I have a decent budget but don't wish to spend 4 figures on a faucet...

The 340 and 440 will easily fit into a 30" cabinet. If your front edge is 1/2" thick solid surface with a 1" build-up, you won't even have to cut the cabinet tops to have either fit, as your 1" substrate is larger that the thickness of the Edge series sink flange. The 540 will go, but you'll have to scoop your cabinet sides which isn't a big deal. Here's the last 540 I've retrofitted:

That's a good question, stillpitpat. I did look at the 440, and it seems like a very nice sink. But I didn't see that it had any advantage over the 540. My issue is that I'd like to use Ikea but that they don't make a 33" sink base - which is the max size I can fit with my current layout plans. The 440 is 1/2" shorter in width than the 540, but that didn't seem like enough of a difference to make it be able to fit in a 30" base next to a dishwasher. But I have not spoken to a contractor about that yet - I'd love to hear that I am wrong. The 440 is also 1 1/4" shorter in length, and all other things being equal, I'd rather have the greater length - if one fits in a smaller base than the other, that would certainly change the equation. Another option I am playing with is seeing if I could buy a 33" sink base from Scherr's - who I am considering to do all my cabinet fronts anyway - and then have all the other cabinets from Ikea. That may work because the sink base does not have another base next to it on either side. I know you and I are doing many similar things, so I'd be happy to tell you my progress and what I find out, if you like.

We got the Delta Arctic Stainless and it goes great. I'm also not sure if it matters as much as I had thought, since the faucet sits above the sink and it catches way more light than the sink. I am pretty picky but my eye was never drawn to compare the two once they were installed. And I love my sink!

Straps aren't standard unfortunately. There is too much "But we've always done it this way" in the granite fabrication and installation business. Insist your fabrictor use a Hercules Universal Sink Harness from BB Industries or a Sink Strap or two from GranQuartz please.

I'm partial to Delta faucets because they're easy to install. Just stick to any major brand and you'll be fine.
