LVP throughout except carpet in spare bdrms & stairs

Becca
last year

I recently bought a house with luxury vinyl plank flooring that looks like gray wood in the downstairs. The stairs and upstairs have builder grade light colored carpet. I’m looking to replace the carpet with luxury vinyl plank that matches the downstairs, but am wondering if only doing that for the hall, master bedroom at the end of the hall, and the smallest bedroom which I’ll use as an office would be acceptable looks-wise and for resale value. I‘d leave the other 2 bedrooms and the stairs with carpet. This would be done for cost savings.

I was also thinking maybe it’d be safer to have carpet on the stairs, But would that be odd to have that carpet on stairs transition between downstairs and upstairs hallway both having LVP?
