Eden, you are so sweet! It made me very sad too. I've started cutting down all the coleus on the plants that were in the front garden too. Boo hoo... I just have to focus on all the fun I'll have growing babies in the house all winter. Kathy, that is Abutilon 'Bella' Hybrid. I have several shades of peach and one yellow of that series and love them all. The dinnerplate dahlia, peachy/blush one, is called 'Breakout'. I absolutely love this dahlia as the color changes quite a bit and the centers can be soft yellow when the temps are warmer than they are now. Deanne

Glenda, I don't usually do too much to ready the garden for winter. I leave much of the cutting back until spring. I will cut back the peonies and the asters though and clean up the daylilies. Other than that it's usually just a matter of gathering up the ornaments (of which I don't have many becuase I spend so much on plants!) and getting hoses and sprinklers put away. Dahli22, we were fortunate that many large rocks were buried in the yard from when the road was blasted. When we built our house we had the guy doing the excavating put all the rocks he dug up in one corner of the yard. A few years later we hired someone who put them to good use. Schoolhouse, Thanks. I have tried to plan the garden for interest in all seasons. I do quite a bit of shopping in the fall when I can see what is most interesting then. There is so much great color in the foliage of so many plants in the fall. We limbed up an oak tree this year and the climbing hydrangea on it took on a great color. It was a nice, unexpected treat. Now if it would ever bloom....

My season started mid-March, and I have had a good bit of re-bloom. I spent a lot of time weeding today, and found that Palace Garden Beauty has put up yet another rebloom scape. I love that particular one, and it is not unusual for it to put up scapes 3 or 4 times, but I didn't expect to find anymore rebloom scapes. I am actually ready for the season to be over, because I am making a lot of changes in my beds. Some are leaving, some are moving, I am planning to move all daylilies from the very back bed because it has Japanese Maple trees becoming larger and giving shade. Debra, although Arctic Lace bloomed and rebloomed, there were fewer scapes of each than usual. Golly Galore has been a super plant. I would recommend it to anyone with a similar climate to mine. It multiplies well, reblooms reliably, and has large beautiful blooms...and lots of them. They are still beautiful at the end of the day in full sun too. Maryl, I got Half Moon Key my first year of buying daylilies, and it isn't going anywhere; good choice. Sherry, I have around 350 different ones...enough for me to keep up with. I am hoping to get down to about 300, but will be lucky to get down at all knowing me. kay

I am so glad you posted! I am starting to feel daylily deprived, most of mine have finished blooming. You have so many pretty blooms, several I don't remember seeing before. You have a lot of nice seedlings too. I have to say though that Birdwing Butterfly looks really impressive in that clump. I am sorry you have had a rough season with spring and summer. Hopefully, next year will be nice. Rain has been missing our house, hitting about half a mile down the road while we get nothing. Not in a drought, but need rain. It has finally hit us the past hour though, a good downpour. I sat on the porch and watched it!
