Kitchen cabinet color with white appliances

I love the layout of this kitchen, and it has brand new white Viking appliances which are gorgeous. But I really don't like the honey tone of the cabinets. I'd like to paint them (along with new countertops, backsplash, updated flooring, Ave the teal paint must go), but I haven't a clue what colors will look good with the white appliances (I've always had stainless).
I like white kitchens, but prefer to inject a color of some kind with this project. Or a different tone of wood (something lighter, more scandi)... Not sure if that's possible with these cabinets. Help?!

Your cabinets are very nice and frankly pretty light! White appliance go with ANY and ALL colors!! Soo much better than SS actually. Those 'teal' counters will be pretty bossy--they are where you need to either change them or choose something that goes with them.

I don't have a white kitchen to show you, nor white appliances. I can only give you my opinion on what I have seen. I think a white kitchen with white appliances is lovely, especially with a darker floor and countertop. Black granite or soapstone looks good - or the opposite spectrum, marble. But marble with gray, not cream veining. To me, yes, it's jarring to see white appliances with a creamy white cabinetry, or creamy countertops. White appliances with white cabs are the only time I'd say you might need to consider going with the same brand for all appliances - unless you know the whites will match. And, when getting new appliances, you won't know if they will match the old ones. Does anyone know if all white appliances are the same white? I'm assuming they aren't. I'd go for either a bright white that matches your trim and will likely match the appliances best, or go gray/green white. I would stay away from creme absolutely. Of course, lol, someone here will post a lovely kitchen with creamy cabs and stark white appliances!

Buffalotina here... When I remodelled my kitchen I already had a white fridge (Amana, nothing fancy) and a white Miele DW which I absolutely love and both were fine and not ready for replacement. The fridge is tucked away out of sight in the breakfast nook and looks OK there because there are no cabinets and the other stuff in there is utility white wire shelving, racks etc. As you see I did the Blue range. I agonized over whether the white DW would be OK but I decided to go ahead with it rather than trying to panel it or anything. My rationale was that as you look at that wall the backsplash is white and the white DW is also in the vertical plane and so I think it looks fine. I also have the small freestanding white cabinet that stands in the vertical plane. Also my cabinets are a very yellowy cream (Brookhaven French Vanilla) and so there was no problem with white on white where the whites might not look good together. That all said if and when I replace the DW and fridge I am tempted to go stainless... but it will probably all depend on what fridges are available at that point. Right now I am lusting over a Liebherr....and that is only in stainless... and when push comes to shove I may not be able to bring myself to spend that much on a fridge. I think I would be inclined to go with what looks more period for the 1915 house...and perhaps showcase the white vintage range and keep it the only white appliance? Good luck!!!

Have you looked at inspiration pictures if beach kitchens with white appliances? Before deciding on cabinets, consider all of other elements that you are drawn to, so you can come up with a plan. I like white counters, cupboards that go to ceiling, some open shelving or one glass front cupboard to make space feel lighter and larger. Suggest moving sink to under window.

It's likely the face of the fridge and the dishwasher are panels and could be changed out if that is something you want to consider.

You either match the white of the appliances or you contrast them. No halfway colors.

Whitewashing the wood would be a nice complement to the appliances.

I would definitely consider white counters to complement the appliances.

i'd bring in floor samples first. there is so much to sort through so you have to bring in a variety of samples. I'd want the table fixture and something over the bar to coordinate better..that would be tremendous for the aesthetic / if you have the time to search a bit..[replacing all the long fixtures might be worth it if you can] ...... teal counter and wall issue dealt with after these changes.

IMO first step in new proper lighting all LED 4000K then and omly then do you choose color. I do not agree that white appliances are better than stainless but at least these are pretty good . The big issue is when one dies the new white will not match.I do not like the corner cabinet on that window wall I would if at all possible get rid of that before painting. If that flooring in the rest of the house is hardwood then get some unfinished to have done to match.. I need to see the rest of your living space to advise a color for the cabinets but I would not try to match the appliances .

You need to decide your new floor first. The color of that will influence the paint job on the cabinets. Even if you want a “blue kitchen” the shade of blue will have to play well with the floor. Is this floor going to be throughout the rest of the house or just in this room? Tile or wood? Terrazzo? Do you absolutely want a certain color in the kitchen so the floor needs to make that color look good? These are two critical choices in the beginning.

Scour photos on Houzz to see which kitchens with white appliances appeal to you. Beverly showed you several beautiful ones. Your white appliances are pretty and are as neutral as stainless. Since any color can work, find what you love.

After floors, and cabinet paint color, you can consider countertops but start thinking now about what material appeals to you. Granite? Quartz? Soapstone? If there is a stone yard you can visit, that may give you an inspiration.

When I redid my kitchen, the end result looked A LOT like photos I saved from Houzz. The pictures you like will narrow down your preferences and make this project less overwhelming. There are a lot of Houzzers here to help but you have to have a vision for the end result to make you happy. W

Do the floor and plan the countertops first -- getting those surfaces into something you actually like will let you see the cabinets with fresh eyes. I'd extend the wood flooring into the kitchen to make the spaces flow together visually.

Layout looks very workable, and I love all the drawers in the peninsula. Great storage!

Pick a floor that looks good with the cabinets. The cabinets are actually beautiful. New counters, and backsplash, and new paint, on the walls, since you dont like the teal color. I actually like the teal, but, not everyone does.

As others have suggested, do everything else first then decide if you still want to paint the cabs. I don't think you will. They are lovely cabs and IMHO, the reason you think the white appliances don't go with the cabs is because there is just too much else going on with floor, wall colour, counters. When you unify the other colours, the appliances will not seem out of place. I think they already have a very Scandi vibe.
