Front landscape ideas
Comments (3)I like balance so yes, I would move some LOTV to the other side. Looks like you have a blank space for them, as long as it's not too sunny. And I would have said consider some apring pink to tie in the azalea but it looks like you have a pink flowering tree just out of the picture range so it bet it looks great all together. Is that the crabapple you're referring to? Dogwoods would look nice too. I agree with the above post - your home itself is beautiful, so it will show off any garden well. And the fact that your garden is so nice makes it even prettier. Good luck!...See MoreHow would you improve this front landscape design?
Comments (7)If I'm understanding correctly (which I may not be!) most of the problems will be solved if you go to a patio at grade rather than a deck. The french doors would be at the same height as the other door. You wouldn't be able to do a lot of trim around it, due to the height of the eaves, but you could still fit the doors. Btw, a deck and a patio are different things. I think when you say terrace, you may mean what I would call a patio? A deck is made of wood with structure underneath and is therefore raised above the ground (or else it wouldn't be a deck. I suppose theoretically you could excavate and put wood structure underneath and have the wood floor structure at grade, but I'm not sure why you would do that and I've never seen it that way!) A patio can be at grade or it can be above-grade with retaining walls - or even below-grade with retaining walls as a sunken patio. But, a patio would generally be made of a hard surface like concrete, stone, or brick pavers. A deck would be made of wood or imitation wood like Trex. That clear it up?...See More**Desperate for front entry landscaping design ideas on new build!!!!
Comments (6)The most recent photo makes it look closer to city walk than first pictures alludes to. If you would, take the foundation planting pictures from the front/center position while standing on the city walk. All pictures must be taken from exact same location, pivoting camera. Do not change the camera position between photos. Please give a full 180* sweep of slightly overlapping photos (street will show in first and last photo.) And then also take the separate distance picture from across the street....See MoreHelp Needed: Front Porch, Exterior and Landscape Design
Comments (13)Find a window that is near the size of those in the dormers. It also needs to match the number of panes (6) in the dormer windows. You don't need to mirror the dormers only the windows in them. You need a carpenter to cut a hole in the garage gable for the window, then place framing for the window on the interior of the cutout. The window is put in place, secured and trim to match the rest of the house is cut and fitted to the outside. Adding a vent uses the same cut and frame, but doesn't require matching other features unless you have other gable vents that you wish to match. Vents are made in square, rectangular, triangular, round, half round, arched and octagonal shapes. They should have metal screen or hardware cloth on the inside to keep small birds and such from getting into attic space. This can be added if not part of the vent as sold....See MoreSigrid
