There's probably no way to find a light anything like that for cheaper. That is a very high end fixture. Rejuventation has similar ones but the price is also similar. Rejuventation does do sales. So, you could watch it. I know i saw 20% off everything for a recent holiday. Beekeeperswife knows what I'm talking about -- it's a height/proportion thing. I like her fixture and think it looks great. I think the existing fixture over your breakfast table is too high and if you can't extend the one with the silver shade, it sounds like it would be similar or even worse. But before you give up on that one, if it is the right diameter and you really love it, see if it can be extended. It doesn't have a chain, so it looks like it would need to be a down rod, which is essentially a metal tube that would probably be treaded on one end to screw into the fixture or have some other attachment mechanism. The lighting shop should be able to tell you if it can be done. I agree with BKW about the first of the most recent 2 photos -- it looks like it was supposed to attach to the ceiling and someone put a chain on it as an afterthought. The second one is very different and dramatic, but I'm not sure it's right for what you are describing. I would take your time finding light fixtures. All you need right now, as pointed out above, is to know how many and where they go. It will be easier to see what you will really like as other tings go into the kitchen. They will be one of the last things to be installed, and they don't usually take long to get. Take your time.

Would you be able to post a picture of the individual pendant you like? The pinterest link goes to a whole board and there are so many different styles there :) Personally I do think this goes with the geometric open framework type pendant in a lot of the pictures. It repeats the openness and the arms are squared instead of round so that is also cohesive. But I understand that it isn't quite what you were envisioning!

Rub n' Buff on the pendants to dull down the shiny gold. You can also spray paint the pendants to any color you want, if you don't feel like spending money on new ones at the moment. You will have to take them down and spray several light coats.
