Remodel Costs- SF Bay Area
Comments (8)Do you have side yards, or are your neighbors' houses built right up against yours? If you have a normal lot with setbacks, the cost per square foot is adequate for a bedroom remodel and addition of 2.5 baths. You're not touching the kitchen, right? If you are on a lot with zero setback on both sides, this is going to be a real challenge to work with the budget, especially because no plans are yet approved! I live in Pacifica. Those numbers would probably work out around here. There are just so many contractors, from every corner of the world. A highly skilled worker may earn $200-$250 per day around here, a low-skilled laborer, maybe $80 to $120. Materials cost the same, if not a bit less around here (when you know where to go) There are just so many places competing for business. More info would definitely help!...See MoreCost per sq foot for 2nd story addition in SF Bay Area
Comments (1)It will vary hugely depending on if you're on the peninsula (more!) or east or north bay (plenty!) or further inland... It's worth having a consultation with an architect and/or general contractor at this point....See MoreWhat is the average cost of Kitchen Remodel in Bay Area?
Comments (7)My daughter did a limited remodel of her 10'X10' kitchen in SF: new flooring and new cabinets/sink only. No structural changes, no new appliances, no island. Cost about $35K five years ago. Other bids at the time were up to $65K. With subsequent increases for labor and materials, plus the high demand for competent contractors due to the pandemic, I'd guess she would easily be paying twice that now. For your more complex remodel my WAG is in the $100-150K range for the kitchen alone. But you will only know if you can get some estimates. It's a volatile time and you shouldn't be making decisions based on what strangers on this forum are guesstimating....See Morekitchen appliance service in SF bay area
Comments (1)We've never had a Bosche or FP appliance but we have a 14+ year old Wolf dual fuel range that we purchased from Airport Appliance in Hayward and a 6 year old SZ fridge that we purchased from Contra Costa Appliance in Walnut Creek. For our current remodel projects, we purchased a SZ under-counter fridge for our coffee bar in our primary suite, a SZ under-counter fridge/freezer combo for our wet bar in our kitchen, and we're considering a Wolf induction range. We purchased all of these items from Contra Costa Appliance. If you're open to purchasing Wolf/SZ, then I highly recommend working with John at CCA! We purchased an extended warranty from Airport Appliance for our oven and never used it, so we skipped the extended warranty for our fridge. Plus from personal experience we know Wolf/SZ bends over backwards to help their customers even after their appliances are out of warranty, so we decided to roll the dice and self-insure potential future repairs. YMMV. ;-) Once our extended warranty expired, we used Box Appliance several times for some issues we experienced with our oven during the pandemic. While their service calls aren't cheap and we had to wait a very long time for parts, we were very pleased with the service we received and really liked their techs, especially Gabriel at Box Appliance. For LG washer & dryer repairs, we highly recommend Alex at Linet Appliance Repair. He's very responsive and we found his rates reasonable. Hope that helps!...See MoreHU-739194839
