Can I substitute coconut milk for sweetened condensed milk?
Comments (8)If you have sweetened coconut milk, it can be an acceptable substitute. If the coconut milk is not thick enough, you might have to reduce it down a bit or perhaps add a bit of tapioca or cornstarch to it. Adding coconut flakes would also help it to stay together. I've substituted coconut milk for SCM in macaroons, and I like them better. If you 12 oz can of coconut milk is not sweetened, you can add 1/3 cup sugar to it - that's what I do in my macaroon recipe. Lars Here is a link that might be useful: Lars' Macaroons...See MoreQuick! Comments (28)Yeah, we're all going to die eventually anyway. We can be overweight and not worry about it. We can eat fried food every day at fast food places. We can also smoke, drink excessively, and have a good time doing it. Such attitudes are nothing more than a rationalization for ignoring the writing on the wall. Like smokers do with the health warnings for tobacco, or why overweight people brush off the need to diet. Sit down, alisande, because I mostly agree with you. Maybe not to the same extent, or in the same ways, as your life style would direct, but I agree with the basics of what you say. Sensible decisions can be later regretted, but they're based on thoughtful consideration and a risk assessment using what's known at the time....See More- 4 years ago
