Comments (4)Tet Super Purple looks nice and dark. Great throat color and is that a pattern I see in the throat?.......Pretty good capture of Mary's Baby's color. It does tend more towards the maroon side here, but almost all "purple" daylilies are really some shade of maroon in my climate. If the temperature is cooler (a rarity when Mary blooms) she can get a lovely black velvet effect to her petals. She's blooming her head off right now and has been for well over a weeks Can you tell she is one of my favorites?............Maryl...See MoreWednesday blooms..
Comments (5)Beth, Your pics always astound me. Thanks so much for sharing! Your camera did a great job of capturing the NEON orange (in warm weather) of Brown Velvet. LOL! My pictures of Hot Cocoa are usually NOT that lovely russet/orange, but the neon orange/red that happens in warm weather. I only recall a time or two (out of several years of growing Hot Cocoa) of capturing the true color. It is SO fleeting and mainly due to the time of year the flowers are produced. I've yet to grow/order Twilight Zone and Ebb Tide because I'd only get that wonderful plum color in early spring or late fall. Our springs here go right to SUMMER, which is frustrating at times. ;-) Thanks again, Chris...See MoreWednesday's blooms
Comments (12)Just got back a little bit ago from another local daylily garden. Lots and lots of good stuff to see. Finally saw Laura Harwood, White Eyes Pink Dragon, & others from this forum live in person. Also saw many I hadn't seen before, such as Empress of China and the huge [but expensive] Amazing Adam....See MoreWednesday's blooms
Comments (12)Nile Crane looks a lot like Star of India. Forsyth Frostbound suddenly appeared back in the garden again after a leave of a few years. I always like your commentary. But I wonder why the pictures are so underexposed now. I am not wanting a bunch of glossies without commentary, but is it that dark there? Yes, mine are also densely planted. If a plant does well, I deal with neighbors that are not so appealing....See Moreorganic_kitten
