What Color Green Do You Think This Is???
Comments (16)I don't think you can get the Aquaglaze at a regular home improvement store. I have never done any faux treatment before, but I have a good friend who is a wiz at glazing her walls. She has promised to help and teach me along the way. I am going to use the same kind of antique gold paint pen for my diamonds since it will blend with my fabric for the window treatments. I am not sure that the fabric is exactly the same, but it is very similar. Today I finished the final coat of paint and I am hoping to map out my grid design on paper. Since I have 8 ft ceilings, I am planning on using the same meaurements as the inspiration room to make it easy. I will let you know how it goes! Once I get the grid marked on the wall, I will post a pic so you can see how it looks....See MoreWhat do you think about this backsplash for my kitchen?
Comments (33)BeeYOOTifulllll!!! I don't know which I like better, for me, I would go with the white ones, but the green is gorgeous! We had green counters in our last house and loved them. However, I love the white because you can change the accent colors of your kitchen much easier. OTOH, the green will be something distinct that not any other house you go to will likely have...that is a plus for me! Whichever way you go, I think it will be simply gorgeous!...See MoreGreen leathery leaf, reddish brown stalk, what do you think it is?
Comments (20)floral_uk: good eye that you saw the fava been, yep, it's a mixed edible and ornamental garden that's been left untended for a long time. I'm going to post a photo soon regarding the fava beens because although we had them in salad a couple of days ago and they tasted great, the exterior of the plant is completely infested with black aphids and I want to see if I can get rid of them or if I have to get rid of the plant....See MoreWhat do you think about this layout? Comments (17)semi-circular extension of patio is an element I took from your plan. I don't know what it is, but it only made sense to me if it was an extension of paving. I'm not suggesting you add paving you don't need. (If the grey semi-circle in your plan represents gravel, that is just a softer form of paving.) You are the one deciding what it is and where it is. I'm just trying to make guesses that keep up with you. Mowed grass is the de facto path for areas that are accessed infrequently. There are a few (very few) groundcovers that might stand up to fairly infrequent use if grass is not desired. But part of the equation depends on cultural conditions present: light/moisture/soil, etc. For areas that need frequent access, some kind of non-plant material (paving) must be used. You could say you're "not happy" with something. But if you don't say exactly WHY, then it's impossible to help work toward overcoming the objections. As I mentioned at the outset, it was difficult to interpret the plan because it is not spelled out what things are. One cannot get sense of how elements are, or should, fit together. It would be helpful to label anything that is not plants, even if it is very generic. Whatever shape represents a plant material, assign a height value to it (height when it is mature.) I suggest using a scheme where mowed grass is +0 and all other plants are +whatever-their-height-in-feet-is. If we knew this, the intent and direction of the plan might be easier to figure out....See Moresmit2380
